Crown Reports Loss
Crown Resources reported on Thursday a net loss for 1998 of $1.9 million, or 13 cents per share. That compares with losses of $4.97 million, or 38 cents per share, a year ago.
Denver-based Crown Resources is a partner with Battle Mountain Gold Co. in a proposed open-pit gold mine in northern Okanogan County.
Revenues were lower this year due to reduction in royalty income from the Kettle River Mine near Republic, Wash., company officials said.
General and administrative expenses also decreased as a result of reduced exploration activity, the decision to sell the company’s Argentina operations and reduced travel and investor relations expenses.
