Churches Planning Events For Easter

Preparations for Easter are well underway at North Side churches. Some churches are also planning special events for Palm Sunday and the beginning of Holy Week.

The choir of Lidgerwood Presbyterian Church will perform the Easter cantata “Resurrection Alleluias” during the 10:30 a.m. worship service on Sunday.

During Holy Week, the church will host services at 12:15 p.m. every day through April 2.

Whitworth Community Presbyterian Church will host daily worship services at noon during Holy Week through next Thursday. The short services will last 15 minutes.

Messiah Lutheran Church, 4202 N. Belt, will hold an Easter egg hunt from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday. Kids ages 6 and under will hunt for eggs in the first hour while the older kids through sixth grade will play games and have treats. The groups will switch at 10:30 a.m.

Kids’ musical takes the stage

Joyful Noise, a group of children from North Addison Baptist Church, will present the musical “Nick at Nite” Sunday at 6 p.m. at the church. The musical tells the story of the rebirth of Nicodemus. The performance is free and all are invited to attend.
