The Sweep Goes On

Centennial Trail

Lots of muscle will be needed for the third annual Centennial Trail cleanup set for April 3.

The Unveil the Trail day organized by Friends of the Centennial Trail seeks to sweep, weed and pick up litter. Groups will be assigned one of the 37 miles of trail from Riverside State Park to the Washington-Idaho state line.

The effort to prepare the trail for spring use already has numerous corporate sponsors, plus volunteers from service clubs, schools and recreational user groups, said co-organizer Nancy Gunn Harsha.

But more volunteers are welcome to join the clean-up scheduled for 9 a.m. to noon. To offer help and get a mile assignment, call 624-7188.
