G-Prep Seniors Chosen For Scholars Program

Parker Barrile and Patrick Weber, Gonzaga Prep seniors, are among some 2,600 candidates in the 1999 Presidential Scholars Program, one of the highest honors bestowed upon graduating high school seniors.

The candidates were selected for exceptional performance on either the College Board SAT or the ACT Assessment.

Parker is the son of Craig Barrile and Lyn Cunningham, Deer Park.

Weber is the son of Chris and Lisa Weber, Spokane.

Cadet Cpl. Justin Dahman was named Sophomore Student of the Month at The Citadel in Charleston, S.C.

Dahman, a 1997 graduate of Gonzaga Prep, is the son of Ralph and Sherry Dahman, Spokane.

Mary Ann Keogh Hoss, Spokane, received a Certificate of Recognition from the American Therapeutic Recreation Association during its national conference in Boston, for her outstanding work on the group’s ethics committee.

Eric Grunwald, Spokane, has received a master’s degree in creative writing from Boston University.

The Jonas Babcock Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution have selected area students for its Good Citizens Program.

Four of the students and their high schools are: Michael Bloom, Shadle; Trevor Smith, Lakeside; Hannah Vahlstrom, Mead; and Brad Martin, Deer Park.

Air Force Airman 1st Class Robert Edinger has graduated from the aerospace propulsion apprentice course at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Edinger, son of Greg and Rhonda Edinger, Medical Lake, is a 1998 graduate of Medical Lake High School.
