Cecil Kelly Coeur d’Alene
Graveside service for Cecil Kelly, 80, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Forest Cemetery in Coeur d’Alene. English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Kelly, who was born in Spencer, W.Va., died Friday.
He served with the Navy during World War II and helped establish a payroll office at Farragut Naval Base.
Mr. Kelly returned to Coeur d’Alene after his military service and owned Kelly Insurance Agency and operated Kelly Tax Service.
He retired from the insurance business in 1977 and closed his tax service in 1985.
He was a member of the Kootenai Masonic Lodge, the Coeur d’Alene Shrine and the Albion (Ill.) York Rite.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Peggy; and three sons, Jim and Cecil Kelly, both of Coeur d’Alene, and Bill Kelly of Puyallup, Wash.
Dale Freeman Coeur d’Alene
Memorial service for Dale T. Freeman, 68, will be at 3 p.m. today at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene.
Born in Colfax, Wash., Mr. Freeman died Friday.
He grew up near Harrison, Idaho, and graduated from Harrison High School in 1948. He then worked at Russel and Pugh Lumber Co. on lake tugboats and as a purchasing agent.
Mr. Freeman moved to Spokane in 1953 and worked for Andrews Equipment Co. as assistant rental manager and outside salesman. In 1961 he moved to Seattle and worked for Fray Equipment Co.
He moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1970 and was employed by Pettibone Corp. and then Reforstation Co. Mr. Freeman then worked for D.G. and S. Logging and as a land salesman for National Associated Properties.
He was a former member of the Elks North Idaho Hoo Hoo and was a Lake City High School booster.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Joanne; a daughter, Dalene Traverse of Hayden, Idaho; a son, Tom Freeman of Coeur d’Alene; a brother, Bob Freeman of Oregon; a sister, Joyce Hall of Nebraska; and five grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lake City High School or Coeur d’Alene High School Booster Club.
Wilmer Baer Pullman
Memorial service for Wilmer Waldemar Baer, 86, was Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pullman.
Mr. Baer, who was born in Bowdle, S.D., died Friday.
He grew up in Bowdle and later attended South Dakota State University.
Mr. Baer married Marguerite Hofer in 1939.
He was a high school teacher in Marion, S.D., for several years. In 1946 he moved to Pullman where he was a part of the business administration faculty at Washington State University. He retired in 1978.
Mr. Baer had been a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Pullman since 1946.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Wilma Ertsgaard of Seattle; a son, Norman Baer of Maplewood, Minn.; a brother, Ted Baer of Seattle; five grandchildren and one great-grandson.

John Scarpelli Spokane
Funeral Mass for John J. “Jack” Scarpelli, 72, will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Scarpelli, who was born in Spokane, died Thursday.
He graduated from St. Anthony Grade School, Gonzaga Prep and Kinman Business University.
Mr. Scarpelli served with the Army Medical Corps during World War II, for three and a half years in the Asiatic Pacific.
He was the former owner of Metropolitan Service Corp. in Spokane.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Lillian; a son, Rick Scarpelli of Spokane; a daughter, Mary Beth Conrath of East Wenatchee, Wash.; and three grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Spokane or Morning Star Boys Ranch.
Leiv Kvamme, M.D. Moses Lake
Funeral for Dr. Leiv Kvamme, a 40-year Moses Lake resident, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Moses Lake Alliance Church. Burial will follow at Pioneer Gardens in Moses Lake. Kayser’s Chapel of Memories in Moses Lake is in charge of arrangements.
Dr. Kvamme, who was born and raised in Norway, died Thursday. He was 76.
He immigrated to the United States in 1947, continuing his schooling at Augsburg College in Minneapolis.
Dr. Kvamme received his medical degree from Tulane Medical School in New Orleans. He began his residency at Pierce County Hospital in Tacoma. While there he was drafted into the Navy.
In 1958 he married Shirley Larson Kendall at the Yokosuka Naval Base near Tokyo.
In 1959 he purchased a medical practice in Moses Lake, where he practiced for many years. He retired last fall.
Dr. Kvamme was an elder and member of the Moses Lake First Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the Grant-Adams County Medical Society.
He also volunteered many hours providing screening physicals for the Shriners children’s hospitals.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Marcie Kendall Reilly of New Mexico and LeAnne Kvamme Parton of Moses Lake; a son, David Kvamme of California; his stepmother, Alfhild Kvamme; two sisters, Sigrunn Kvamme and Hilga Mykeltun; four brothers, Torstein, Brynjulv, Anders and Agnar Kvamme; and six grandchildren.

Lois Trevithick Spokane
Visitation for Lois Trevithick, 84, will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Funeral is planned for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Pines Cemetery.
Mrs. Trevithick, who was born in Mount Hope, Wash., died Friday.
Formerly of Oroville, Wash., she was a 35-year Spokane resident and was a homemaker.
Her husband of 59 years, Clifford, died in 1995.
Survivors include three daughters, Deanne Bramhall of Spokane, June Bickford of Federal Way, Wash., and Barbara Peck of Forest City, Iowa; a son, Ron Trevithick of Anchorage, Alaska; two sisters, Eula Thune of Spokane and Gay Turner of Auburn, Wash.; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
