WSU Campus Quiet

From Staff

Washington State University’s Greek Row - the scene of an alcohol-fueled riot a year ago - was calm on the anniversary weekend, police said Sunday.

Officers conducted extra foot patrols in anticipation of possible problems, but they reported few troubles and made only two alcohol-related arrests Saturday night, police said.

A noise complaint led police to discover two illegally registered beer kegs and cite a minor for being in possession of alcohol. The party ended shortly after the kegs were confiscated.

Pullman Police Chief Ted Weatherly on Sunday praised WSU student leaders and university administrators for coming up with alternative events that helped prevent trouble this year.
