Servick Quits City Council
Susan K. Servick resigned from the City Council Tuesday night, citing personal reasons. Her resignation is effective June 2.
She is moving to Walla Walla, City Hall sources say.
Servick was appointed to the City Council in December 1995 by Mayor Al Hassell to fill the post of departing councilman Dan English. English became Kootenai County clerk.
Servick successfully ran for the council in the 1997 municipal election.
A native of Coeur d’Alene, Servick is an attorney. She worked for the Kootenai County public defender’s office for two years and then joined the firm of Ramsden & Lyons as a defense attorney in civil cases.
The city will take applications for Servick’s council seat through May 14. People should call Mayor Steve Judy’s office at 769-2204 for an application packet.
Judy will recommend a replacement, who must be approved by the council.
That seat will be up for election in the fall.
In other changes, Judy announced he is leaving his job at North Idaho Immediate Care. He has been human resources director there for the past 18 months.
Judy, who makes $800 a month as mayor, would not say what his job plans are.
