Herman Chevalier Cataldo, Idaho
At the family’s request, no service will be held for Herman Haden Chevalier, 77. Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Chevalier, who was born in Missouri, died Thursday.
He grew up in Missouri.
He joined the Navy in 1943 and spent time at Farragut Naval Station.
Mr. Chevalier married Barbara Coats in 1946 and briefly returned to Missouri after his military service. He settled in the Silver Valley in the late 1940s.
He worked as a watchmaker at a Kellogg jewelry store and then became a foreman at the Bunker Hill zinc plant, retiring in 1980.
Mr. Chevalier was a member of the Masons, Scottish Rite and the Shriners.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1996.
Survivors include a son, Haden Chevalier of Cataldo; two brothers, Jim and Joe Dale Chevalier, both of Missouri; three sisters, Betty Coleman, Bonnie Bodecker, and Dora Narron, all of Missouri; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Dennis Crone Spokane
Visitation for Dennis A. Crone, 58, will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and Sunday at Riplinger Funeral Home. Memorial service is planned for 11:30 a.m. Monday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Private burial will be at Pines Cemetery.
Mr. Crone, who died Wednesday, was a lifetime Spokane resident.
He worked as an operations analyst for URM.
Survivors include his wife, Vickie Gillespie; his children Lucia, Rob and Rick Crone, all of Spokane, and Shelly Cope of Salt Lake City; his mother, Maxine Crone of Mead; a brother, Lonnie Crone of Spokane; and five grandchildren.

Mark Hubbard Temecula, Calif.
Memorial service for Mark L. Hubbard, 33, will be at 10:30 a.m. today at the Stout Family Funeral Home Chapel in Temecula.
Mr. Hubbard, who was born in Spokane, died Tuesday.
He graduated from West Valley High School and then from Cal-Poly in Pamona, Calif., with a bachelor’s degree in business management.
Mr. Hubbard worked as a scheduler for Cytec Fiberite in Anaheim, Calif., for the past 11 years.
Survivors include his fiancee, Alvina Nihipali of Murrieta, Calif.; his parents, Gordon and Carol Hubbard, both of Spokane; a brother, Daniel Hubbard of Spokane; two sisters, Crystal Baump-Hoss of Spokane and Shannon Henry of Temecula, Calif.; and his grandmother, Nadine Chavez of Fort Sumner, N.M.
Kathleen `Kaye’ (Salle) Harris Sandpoint
Memorial service for Kathleen “Kaye” (Salle) Harris, 83, will be today at 3 p.m. at Coffelt Funeral Service in Sandpoint.
Mrs. Harris, who was born in Boise, died Thursday.
She grew up and attended schools in Nampa, Idaho, and then graduated from John Hopkins University in Baltimore with a degree in nursing.
Mrs. Harris married Dale Harris in 1939 and moved to Sandpoint in 1948, where she worked at Bonner General Hospital off and on for 35 years as a nurse and nursing manager on the obstetrics ward.
She was a member of the Sandpoint Lady Elks.
Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by her husband.
Survivors include two sons, Jeff and Craig Harris, both of Sandpoint; a daughter, Stephani White of Oregon; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Rene `Kooki’ Rodriquez Sandpoint
Private family service for Rene I. “Kooki” Rodriquez, 52, has been held. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Douglas, Ariz. Coffelt Funeral Service in Sandpoint was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Rodriquez, who was born in Douglas, died Tuesday.
He lived in Arizona and graduated from high school in California. He attended college in Washington state before serving with the Army during Vietnam.
Mr. Rodriquez moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1982 and worked locally as a framing carpenter in home construction.
He moved to Sandpoint in 1990.
Survivors include his wife, Tami; two children, Phillipe Rodriquez and Latosiha Mankee, both of Sandpoint; his mother, Frances Rodriquez of Douglas; five brothers. and two sisters.
Nancy Shiner Kellogg
No service will be held for Nancy Darlene Shiner at her request. Shoshone Funeral Service in Kellogg is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Shiner, who was born in Joplin, Mo., died Wednesday. She was 55.
She lived in Nebraska before moving to the Silver Valley in 1956. She worked as a maid for 14 years at The Sunshine Inn.
Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Clifford; a daughter, Bev Croston of Kellogg; a son, Cliff Shiner of Osburn, Idaho; her mother, Eva Walker of Kellogg; a brother, Donny Walker of Kellogg; her grandmother, Mae Walker of Coeur d’Alene; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Harvey Rose Ritzville, Wash.
Memorial service for Harvey F. Rose, 77, will be at 1 p.m. May 15 at the Valleyford (Wash.) Community Church. Private inurnment will be at the Rose Family Cemetery in South Dakota at a later date. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Rose, who died Wednesday, was born in Dowling, S.D., and raised in Rapid City, S.D.
He married Gladys Morgenstern in 1945.
Mr. Rose worked for Boeing in Renton, Wash., during World War II.
He later worked as a driller and powderman in road construction in St. Maries, Idaho. He moved to Valleyford from St. Maries in 1951. He continued working in the road construction industry for 25 years. He retired in 1977.
Mr. Rose also owned a small farm in the Valleyford area for 41 years. He moved to Ritzville in 1992.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Albert Rose, and two daughters, Nancy Wolfrum and Dee Knight, all of Spokane; a sister, Alma Hoist of Midland, Texas; and four grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be to the Union Gospel Mission.
Roland `Ron’ James Spokane
Funeral for Roland Franklin “Ron” James, a Spokane Valley resident, will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pines Cemetery. Lauer Funeral Home in Deer Park is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. James, who was born in Minneapolis, died Monday. He was 50.
He graduated from Rim of the World High School in Lake Arrowhead, Calif., in 1966. He moved to the Spokane area in 1976.
Mr. James was a self-employed commercial truck representative and was the owner of Transport Services of Spokane.
He was the organizer of the Dave Rogers Memorial Muscle Car Drags for Muscular Dystrophy and was a member and past president of the Spokane Corvette Club.
Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Justina; a daughter, Tammi Haden of Channel Islands, Calif.; his mother and father, Reinhold and Velma James of Greenacres; a sister, Darlene Pond of Irvine, Calif.; two brothers, Reinhold James Jr. of Chicago and Gary James of Wrightwood, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
