Frank Rupinski Coeur d’Alene

No service will be held for Frank Rupinski, 79, at his request. Coeur d’Alene Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Rupinski, who was born in McKeesport, Pa., died Saturday.

In 1940 he married Dorothy Nichols.

He moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1949 and worked as a miner in the Silver Valley.

Mr. Rupinski also owned a demolition company and Frank and Sons Scrap Iron and Metals in Coeur d’Alene.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jerry “Deak” Rupinski of Rathdrum, Idaho, and Tim Rupinski of Coeur d’Alene; two daughters, Orlene Reynolds of Post Falls and Dianne Atkison of Moscow; a brother, Chuckie Rupinski of Ohio; a sister, Dorothy Horvath of Pennsylvania; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Hazel Kuster Spokane

Memorial service for Hazel Corinne (Greer VanTrease) Kuster, 84, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Spokane Valley United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Normal Hill Cemetery in Lewiston. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Kuster, who was born in Lewiston, died April 29.

She graduated from Lewiston High School and then received a bachelor’s degree from Lewiston Normal School. She received a master’s degree from Denver University.

Mrs. Kuster taught school in Idaho for four years and in Clarkston, Wash., for eight years before teaching in the Central Valley School District for 19 years.

She married Paul VanTrease in 1935. He died in 1964. In 1969 she married John Kuster Jr. He died in 1993.

Mrs. Kuster was a member of the Spokane Valley United Methodist Church, Delta Kappa Gamma sorority and the Mayflower Society.

Survivors include two sons, David VanTrease of Worley, Idaho, and Dean VanTrease of Tulsa, Okla.; a stepdaughter, Elinor Kuster of Lebanon, Ore.; four sisters, Gladys Kress of Lewiston, Shirley Clark of Oak Harbor, Wash., Patricia Killingsworth of Pomeroy, Wash., and Allane Young of Rainelle, W.Va.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Bradley Donaldson Spokane

Visitation for Bradley W. Donaldson, 48, will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home - North. Memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Wednesday at Knox Presbyterian Church. Private burial at Fairmount Memorial Park is planned.

A longtime Spokane resident, Mr. Donaldson died Saturday. He was born in Butte, Mont.

Mr. Donaldson moved to Spokane as a child, attending Mead schools until his senior year, when he moved to Havre, Mont., where he graduated from high school in 1968.

He graduated from Gonzaga University in 1985 with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.

Mr. Donaldson worked for Monicle Enterprises and then as a component engineer for Key Tronic in Spokane from 1988 until 1991.

He went on to graduate with an associate of arts degree in respiratory therapy from Spokane Community College in 1994.

Mr. Donaldson worked as a certified nurse assistant at St. Luke’s Rehabilitation Center and then as a respiratory therapist at Kootenai Medical Center, Lincare in Spokane and most recently in the extended care unit at Holy Family Hospital. He also spent time at Deaconess and Sacred Heart medical centers and at Valley General Hospital.

He was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church and the American Association of Respiratory Care.

Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Lanette; two sons, Bryan Donaldson and Steven Quaschnick, two daughters, Jalene and Jaime Donaldson, and his parents, Ernest and Wanda Dieterich, all of Spokane; and four brothers, Gene, Jerry and David Ray, all of Spokane, and Brice Donaldson of Enid, Okla.

Memorial contributions may be made to Knox Presbyterian Church.

June Freimuth Spokane

Graveside service for June E. Freimuth, 83, was Monday at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. A 63-year Spokane resident, Mrs. Freimuth died Thursday. She was born in Port Angeles, Wash.

She worked as a secretary at Diamond Match and Pack River for many years.

Her first husband, Byron McDonald, died in 1950. Her second husband, Paul Freimuth, died in 1991.

Survivors include two sons, Byron McDonald of Spokane and Bruce McDonald of Federal Way, Wash.; a sister, Dorothy Domeyer of Lacey, Wash.; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Joye Crowley Spokane

Funeral for Joye Frances Crowley, a longtime Spokane resident, will be at noon today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home.

Mrs. Crowley, who was born in Spokane, died Thursday while visiting family in Wellesley, Mass. She was 60.

She was a homemaker and a former member of the Spokane Junior League.

Mrs. Crowley also served as a board member of the Artisans Ark and was a swimming instructor of infants and children in Spokane.

Survivors include a son, Peter Rozin of Miami; two daughters, Jody Rozin of Nashville, Tenn., and Lisa Morrissey of Wellesley; four brothers, Charles Crowley of Spokane, Bill Crowley of Chewelah, Patrick Crowley of Moraga, Calif., and Jim Crowley of Portland; four sisters, Jane Crowley of Spokane, Katherine Cronin of Post Falls, Sue O’Leary of Helena and Sally Campbell of Portland; and two grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House.

Gene Westfall Spokane

Funeral for Gene A. Westfall, 72, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Heritage Funeral Home.

A 50-year Spokane resident, Mr. Westfall died Friday. He was born in Lewiston.

After graduating from Clarkston (Wash.) High School he served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War.

Following his military service he worked as a fourth-generation bricklayer and later worked for the Postal Service for 33 years. He also performed as a professional wrestler and was most recently employed in the auto sales industry.

Mr. Westfall was active in amateur radio and was known as K7EUA. He was a member of the the Quarter Century Wireless Evergreen Chapter 87 and several Northwest Tri-State Radio organizations.

He participated in behind-the-scenes operations of the Spokane Lilac Parade, Bloomsday and the Gold Cup Hydroplane Races for many years.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Irene; two sons, Bob Westfall of Spokane and Walter Westfall of Westborough, Mass.; two daughters, Susan Naeve of Seattle and Rosalyn Long of Cottonwood, Idaho; three sisters and five grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.

Donna Nilles Spokane

Funeral for Donna Louise Nilles, 56, will be at 2 p.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Burial will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.

A lifetime Spokane resident, Mrs. Nilles died Friday.

She worked as an account manager in the electronics field for several years.

Mrs. Nilles was a member of Colbert Presbyterian Church, the Depression and Manic Depression Association and the Spokane Chapter of the Brain Injury Association of Washington.

Survivors include a daughter, Sonya Robbins of Las Vegas; four sons, James and Jarrod Nilles, both of Spokane, Jeff Nilles of Rathdrum, Idaho, and John Nilles of Silverdale, Wash.; and eight grandchildren.

Jaunita Jochim Spokane

Funeral for Juanita Jochim, 77, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Heritage Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.

A 47-year Spokane resident, Mrs. Jochim died Friday. She was born in Bloomington, Ind.

Mrs. Jochim was a homemaker and a charter member of the Palette and Brush Art Club.

Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Wendylen; two sons, William Jochim and Noah Wischmann, and a daughter, Rebecca Ziegler, all of Spokane; a brother, Kenneth Chambers of San Antonio, Texas; two sisters, Olive Baugh of Bloomington and Barbara Farber of Indianapolis; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society for breast cancer research.

Philip Kelley Almira, Wash.

Memorial Mass for Philip William Kelley, 78, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Hartline, Wash. Burial will be at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, between Hartline and Almira, at a later date. Strate Funeral Home in Grand Coulee, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.

A lifetime Almira resident, Mr. Kelley died April 30.

He farmed in the Almira area until retiring in 1975. He served in the Navy during World War II.

Mr. Kelley was a member of the Roman Catholic Church, the Grange and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include a sister, Esther Kelley of Seattle; two nephews, Gary Sanderson of Grand Coulee and Larry Sanderson of Spokane; and two nieces, Patricia Lyons and Regina Macioch, both of El Paso, Texas.
