Wanda Isherwood Spokane

Visitation for Wanda K. Isherwood, 89, will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South. Funeral is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Private burial will be at Sunnyside (Wash.) Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Isherwood, who was born in Salem, Ore., died Wednesday.

She was raised in the Yakima Valley, graduating from Prosser (Wash.) High School.

Mrs. Isherwood worked as a sales clerk at Griffin’s Department Store in Sunnyside for several years. She moved to Spokane in 1988.

She also worked as an Avon sales representative for 38 years. She retired in 1997.

Mrs. Isherwood was a co-founder and member of the Sunnyside Stampeders and Sunnyside Methodist Church. She most recently had been a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Spokane.

Her husband, Howard Isherwood, preceded her in death.

Survivors include a son, LeRoy Isherwood, and a daughter, Maxine McCandless, both of Spokane; nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Agnes Williams Spokane

Visitation for Agnes M. Williams, 77, will be from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home - North. Graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at Fairmount Memorial Park.

Mrs. Williams, who was born in Reading, Pa., died Tuesday.

She came to the Renton, Wash., area in 1925 as a child and attended schools there. She later quit school to help support her family.

In the early 1940s she moved to Yakima to work in the orchards. She moved to Spokane in 1949.

In 1963 she married William Williams.

Mrs. Williams worked as a waitress for restaurants in the Spokane area for many years. She retired in 1983 from The Big Red Barn in Greenacres.

Survivors include her husband; five daughters, Judy Woodard and Pamela Mikelson, both of Spokane, Susan Weller of Pennsylvania, April Williams of Oregon and Lynne Lenhart of New York; a brother, James O’Hallaran of California; and 14 grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Spokane.

Dean Broadhead Deer Park

Viewing for Dean Morris Broadhead, 64, will be from non to 12:30 p.m. today at English Funeral Chapel in Post Falls. Service will follow at 1 p.m. at the Riverside Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Chattaroy. Burial will be in Elk.

Mr. Broadhead, who was born in Cardston, Alberta, died Monday in a work-related accident in Coeur d’Alene.

He grew up in Alberta and moved to Spokane in 1969. He worked as a painter and was also an area musician.

Mr. Broadhead was a member of the Mormon Church.

Survivors include his wife, Sharlene; nine children, Darrel Putney, Debbra Nelson and Robert and James Stroh, all of Spokane, Stuart Broadhead and Cory Lewis, both of Greenriver, Wyo., Stephoney Krogel of Meridian, Idaho, Shelley Hogan of Brewster, Wash., and Shawna Olson of Deer Park; three brothers, Lynden and Ray Broadhead, both of Salt Lake City, and Dennis Broadhead of Cardston; and 24 grandchildren.

Lawrence Westby Deer Lake

No service will be held for Lawrence Otto “Larry” Westby, 72, at his request. Lauer Funeral Home in Deer Park is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Westby, who was born and raised in Clayton, Wash., died Monday.

He worked at the Clayton brickyard for several years until enlisting in the Navy during World War II.

After the war he attended the University of Washington while working for Boeing.

He married Verna Myers in 1948.

Mr. Westby worked for Retail Credit, also known as Equifax, for 25 years. During that time he was the assistant manager of the Seattle office and the manager of the Everett, Wash., office. He retired in the early 1970s.

In 1971 he and his wife purchased the Pearl Bay Resort on Deer Lake. He owned and operated the resort for 20 years.

For the past seven years Mr. Westby has been living at Haneys Resort on Deer Lake.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Jay Westby of Spokane, Michael Westby of Seattle and Bill Westby of Pullman; and three granddaughters.

Ella Finley Spokane

Graveside service for Ella Finley, 86, will be at 11 a.m. today at the International Order of Odd Fellows Evergreen Cemetery in Rosalia, Wash. Memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. at Rosalia Christian Church.

Schanzenbach Funeral Home in Rosalia is in charge of arrangements.

A resident of Rosalia since 1952, Mrs. Finley died Monday. She was born in Grouse Flats, Ore.

Mrs. Finley drove school bus and the swimming bus for the Rosalia School District for many years.

She was a member of the Pythian Sisters, Rebekah Lodge, the Grange and the Sewing Club, all of Rosalia, and attended Rosalia Christian Church.

Her husband, Wynn Finley, died in 1987.

Survivors include a daughter, Dorene Rugg of Spokane; three sisters, Neva Hansen, Alta Wilkinson and Ozelle Scoggins; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Rosalia Community Ambulance Fund or the Heart Fund.

Anna Lochhead Spokane

Memorial service for Anna Mae Lochhead, 91, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Whitworth Community Presbyterian Church. Private inurnment will be at Dartford Cemetery at a later date..

Born in Hope, Idaho, Mrs. Lochhead died April 24.

She was a graduate of North Central High School, and she married John Lochhead in 1927.

Mrs. Lochhead was a homemaker until 1963, when she joined her husband in the operation of Third Avenue Tool Rental, which later became B&B Rents.

After retirement she spent winters in Arizona.

Mrs. Lochhead was a 54-year member of Millwood Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Rock Rollers Club and the Columbian Geological Society.

Her husband died in 1997.

Survivors include a daughter, Ellen Dimond, and two sons, Harvey and Bruce Lochhead, all of Spokane; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Millwood Community Presbyterian Church Endowment Fund.

Constance Peterson Spokane

Memorial service for Constance E. “Connie” Peterson, 86, will be at 1 p.m. today at the Episcopal Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

A 50-year Spokane resident, Mrs. Peterson died Saturday. She was born in Rochester, N.Y.

Mrs. Peterson received a bachelor’s degree from Wellesley College and a master’s in social work from Columbia University.

Over the years she worked for many social organizations. She retired from the Spokane Veterans Administration Medical Center as a social worker.

She was a longtime member of the Episcopal Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist.

Survivors include a son, Kimball Peterson, and a daughter, Linda Hills, both of Spokane; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Henrietta VanStone Spokane

Memorial service for Henrietta F. VanStone, a 55-year Spokane resident, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Riplinger Funeral Home.

Mrs. VanStone, who was born in Hope, Idaho, died Tuesday. She was 85.

She worked as a cook at Travo’s Restaurant for 20 years.

Mrs. VanStone was an active volunteer with the Spokane Humane Society and was known for her woodcarving.

Survivors include a son, Charles VanStone of Medical Lake; four sisters, Nonie Rojan of Sandpoint, Doris Murrietta of Thoreau, N.M., Elaine Loftin of Junction City, Ore., and Violet Thornton of Clark Fork, Idaho; six granddaughters and 14 great-grandchildren.
