Messianic Jews plan feast

Messianic Jewish Fellowship of Spokane will observe the Feast of Shavout, or Pentecost, with a special service at 10:15 a.m. next Saturday. The service will be followed by a potluck lunch. All foods brought to the meal must be biblically kosher.

Those with last names starting with the letter A-H are asked to bring dairy dishes such as blintzes, kugels and knishes; those with names starting with I-Q are asked to bring dairy related desserts, and people with names R-Z are asked to bring green salads. The group meets at Broadway Elementary School, 11016 E. Broadway. Call 465-9523 for more information.

March for Jesus next Saturday

The annual March for Jesus is set to begin at 11 a.m. next Saturday. Participants are asked to gather at the Spokane Arena at 10 a.m.

Marchers are invited to bring banners and signs for the event. The theme of the nationwide event is “No More Walls.” The march will go through downtown and conclude in the Riverfront Park Lilac Bowl.

Cathedral choirs in concert

The choirs of the Episcopal Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist and the Roman Catholic Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes will come together for a concert Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Catholic cathedral, 1115 W. Riverside.

“A Spring Spectacular” will feature music for two choirs, massed choir and organ. Works by Palestrina, Byrd, Vittoria, Mozart, Franck and Manz will be performed.

There is no admission charge. Donations will be accepted.

Church aiding accident victim

Vertical Vision of New Horizons Community Church will put on a benefit concert Sunday at 6:30 p.m. The worship band will perform at the Shadle Park High School Auditorium, 4327 N. Ash.

The band is known for performing contemporary Christian music by artists such as Steven Curtis Chapman and Audio Adrenaline.

Proceeds from the concert will be used to help pay the medical bills of Christina Uhl, who was hit by a truck in March.

Cost: $5/adults, $3/youth ages 12-18, and $2/children. Tickets are available at Hoffman Music, Rock City Music, A-1 Sign Co., Silver Lanes Bowling Alley and all Christian Supply locations.
