Kenyans Win Bay To Breakers

About 73,000 people participated in the 12K Bay to Breakers race that winds up and down the hilly streets of San Francisco through Golden Gate Park to the shore of the Pacific Ocean.

For the ninth straight year, Kenyans won. Lazarus Nyakeraka led the men all the way, finishing in 34 minutes, 11 seconds - 29 seconds ahead of Mexico’s Armando Quintanilla. Catherine Ndereba of Kenya won the women’s race at 38:37.
