Concert by liturgical composer

A special concert is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. today at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, 219 E. Rockwood Blvd.

The concert will feature Antoine Oomen, a leading liturgical composer in the Netherlands. He will perform some of his works. In addition, a choir of area choral directors and members will perform.

A free-will offering will be collected.

Christian Science talk planned

The Second Church of Christ, Scientist, will host a lecture by Benson Wisckol Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

His free talk is titled “Spiritual Solutions - How Do We Find Them?” Wisckol is a member of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship.

Bosankai service Sunday

The annual Bosankai memorial service for the area’s Japanese community will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Greenwood Cemetery, 211 N. Government Way.

Featured speakers will be the Rev. Hoshu Matsubayashi of White River Buddhist Church in Auburn, Wash., and the Rev. Ed Iwamoto of Highland Park United Methodist Church.

Creation vs. evolution topic

Mike Riddle of the Institute for Creation Research will speak on the contrasting claims of creation and evolution during a lecture at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Valleyford Community Church at the corner of Palouse Highway and Madison Road. All are welcome.
