Connections

Beginning today

The plight of Kosovo refugees and the effects of youth violence on society are more than stories from a galaxy far, far away. They are issues that affect us in substantial and discernible ways. Tales of atrocities in a distant land moved Inland Northwest residents to donate thousands of dollars to aid displaced Kosovars. Following the Columbine High School massacre in Colorado, local groups are taking steps to ensure our own children do not become victims of gun violence.

Beginning today, The Spokesman-Review takes a weekly look at the impact of world and national events on the lives of the citizens of Eastern Washington and North Idaho.
