Wetlands Benefit

Ducks Unlimited

In the past three years, Ducks Unlimited has begun or completed 178 wetland restoration projects covering 103,000 acres in Washington and Oregon, the conservation organization’s officials say.

“In Washington, we have completed or are working on 111 projects with more than 40,000 acres,” said Andrew Engilis Jr., DU senior regional biologist.

Washington chapters have raised $13 million for the restorations, he said.

Eastern Washington projects are along the Pend Oreille River and the Columbia National Wildlife Refuge.
