Electa Thatcher Young Dalton Gardens, Idaho

Visitation for Electa Frances Thatcher Young, 91, will be Monday from 1:30 p.m. until the service at 2:30 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Dalton Gardens Ward. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery in Coeur d’Alene. Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Young, who was born in Clawson, Idaho, died Wednesday.

She married Joseph Young in 1928.

She lived in California and was active with the Mormon Church and held many positions, including Stake Missionary.

Mrs. Young worked for a school district in California before retiring in 1966 and moving to Dalton Gardens to be near family.

Her husband preceded her in death.

Survivors include three sons, Sherwood Young and David Young, both of California, and Wallace Young of Marsing, Idaho; a daughter, Lynda Westover of Dalton Gardens; 18 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Margaret Pilger Sandpoint

Private service for Margaret Healey Pilger, 94, will be Tuesday at Coffelt Funeral Service in Sandpoint. Burial will be at the Clark Fork (Idaho) Cemetery.

Mrs. Pilger, who was born in New York City, died Thursday.

She married John Pilger in 1927 and lived in Park Ridge, N.J., for many years.

Mrs. Pilger was a seamstress and moved to North Idaho in 1985 to be near family.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1988.

Survivors include a sister, Marie Huff of Park Ridge; three grandchildren, Karleen Neumann, Kathy Neumann and Karl Neumann, all of Clark Fork; four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Jeanne (Helbig) Wallace Spokane

Memorial service for Jeanne (Helbig) Wallace, 69, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Centenary United Methodist Church. Private burial will be at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South is in charge of arrangements.

A 66-year Spokane resident, Mrs. Wallace died Wednesday. She was born in Seattle.

Mrs. Wallace was a homemaker and worked as a secretary at St. John’s Lutheran Church for nine years, primarily with Pastor Wilton Hille.

She was an active member of Centenary United Methodist church, where she was a Sunday school kindergarten teacher, active with the Ruth Circle, and served as the bazaar chairman and financial secretary for many years.

Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Tom; a son, Mike Wallace and a daughter, Jennifer Wandolowski.

Memorial contributions may be made to Centenary United Methodist Church.

Sadie Rummer Coeur d’Alene

No service will be held for Sadie G. Rummer, 99. English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Rummer, who was born in Davenport, Wash., died Thursday.

She lived in Spokane before moving to Rathdrum, Idaho, in 1985. She settled in Spirit Lake in 1988.

She had been a member of the Deer Park Grange.

Mrs. Rummer later moved to Coeur d’Alene and was a homemaker.

Survivors include a son, Edward Buck of Spokane; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Josephine Hockett Hayden, Idaho

Service for Josephine Hockett, 82, will be today at 1 p.m. at English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene. Burial will follow at the Blanchard (Idaho) Cemetery.

Mrs. Hockett, who was born in Idaho, died Friday.

She lived in the Spirit Lake and Blanchard areas for many years before moving to the Huetter area in the 1960s.

Mrs. Hockett later settled in Hayden. She was a homemaker and a member of the Blanchard Community Church.

Her husband, Roy, preceded her in death.

Survivors include three sons, Bob Hockett of Rathdrum, Idaho, Leroy Hockett of Spirit Lake and Tom Hockett of Priest River, Idaho; a daughter, Lillian Hand of Canada; two brothers, George Beyer of Kamiah, Idaho, and Albert Beyer of Pinehurst, Idaho; two sisters, Dora Shove of Twin Lakes, Idaho, and Margaret Heustis of Potlatch, Idaho; 51 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren.

Viva Paul Addy, Wash.

Funeral for Viva L. Paul, 72, will be at 1 p.m. today at Olympic View Assembly of God Church in Silverdale, Wash. Burial will be at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bremerton. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South in Spokane is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Paul, who died Tuesday, was born in Bothell, Wash.

She was raised and attended high school in La Conner, Wash., and graduated from St. Gabrini Nursing School.

Mrs. Paul retired from working as a registered nurse at Mount Carmel Hospital in Colville, Wash., in 1996.

She lived in Orient, Wash., for 10 years before moving to Addy one year ago.

Her husband, Lyal Paul, died in December.

Survivors include three daughters, Mona Foley of Seabeck, Wash., Sheri Mendy of Kellogg and Norrie Ahlf of Baltimore; two sons, Allan Chinn of Kent, Wash., and Ron Chinn of Seattle; a sister, Kay St. John of Morro Bay, Calif.; a brother, Roy Graebener of Mount Vernon, Wash.; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Samuel Frazier Coeur d’Alene

No service will be held for Samuel D. Frazier, 85. Coeur d’Alene Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Frazier, who was born in Siloam Springs, Ark., died Tuesday.

He worked in the shipyards during World War II, and in 1945 married Kathleen Colligan.

Mr. Frazier settled in Coeur d’Alene and worked as a logger. He moved to Sunnyside, Wash., in 1963 and worked in an apple orchard, and returned to Coeur d’Alene in 1996.

He was a member of the Lakeside Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Survivors include his wife, Kathleen; four sons, Cal Frazier of Grandview, Wash., Marshall Frazier of Oregon, and Gareth and Leamon Flansburg, both of Montana; two daughters, Bess Taylor of Coeur d’Alene and Diane Bates of California; a brother, Monte Frazier of Wichita, Kan.; two sisters, Betty Thompson of Kansas and Margie Davis of Missouri; 24 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
