Clemens Klein Spokane
Funeral Mass for Clemens Klein, 86, will be at 11 a.m. today at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A 60-year Spokane resident, Mr. Klein died Monday. He was born in Hauge, N.D.
Mr. Klein worked as a dry cleaner for many years.
He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and the Eagles Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Kathryn; a son, Darrel Klein, and a daughter, Jan Breitsrecher, both of Spokane; a brother, Jake Klein of Fargo, N.D.; two sisters, Agnes Kraft of Strasburg, N.D., and Eva Schempp of Bismarck, N.D.; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Brother Benjamin Trautman Spokane
Funeral Mass for Brother Benjamin A. Trautman, 83, will be at 3 p.m. today at the Jesuit House Chapel. Burial will be at the Mount St. Michael Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Brother Trautman, who was born in Shelby, Mont., died Monday.
He entered the Novitiate of Oregon Province at Sheridan in 1934.
Brother Trautman remained in Sheridan until 1944, when he moved to Spokane. He pronounced his last vows at Mount St. Michael in 1946.
He worked at Mount St. Michael from 1944 until 1952, at St. Mary’s Mission from 1961 until 1965, and as a custodian at the Jesuit Novitiate from 1965 until 1968.
Brother Trautman began working at the Bea House community at Gonzaga in 1968 and had been a member of the Gonzaga University Jesuit community since.
Survivors include a sister, Angela Bernard Trautman of St. Paul, Minn.; and numerous cousins.
Donald Lorentz Spokane
Memorial service for Donald G. Lorentz, 77, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Spokane Valley United Methodist Church. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Lorentz, who was born and raised in Minneapolis, died Saturday.
He graduated from high school in Annandale, Minn., and from the University of Minnesota.
Mr. Lorentz served as a radioman in the Navy during World War II. He served on the USS California in the Pacific Theater.
He worked for Washington Water Power for 26 years before retiring in 1982.
Mr. Lorentz was a member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association, the Spokane Memorial Association, Spokane Valley United Methodist Church and the Washington Water Power Retirees Association.
His first wife, Carol, died in 1993.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; three sons, John and James Lorentz, both of Spokane, and Jeff Markel of Nashville, Tenn.; a daughter, Elain Planty of Nashville; two brothers, Ellsworth Lorentz of Spokane and Harry Lorentz of Veradale; a sister, Lucille Rhodes of Eustis, Fla.; and five grandchildren.

Louise Johnson Kennewick
Funeral for Louise Johnson, 91, will be at 10 a.m. today at the Cathedral of Joy in Kennewick. Burial will follow at Spokane Memorial Gardens with graveside services planned for 3 p.m. Mueller’s Tri-Cities Funeral Home in Kennewick is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Johnson, who was born in Lamont, Wash., died Monday.
She attended Schools in Lamont and Sprague, Wash., and in 1926 married Edward Johnson.
Mrs. Johnson farmed in the Lamont area for many years. She retired to Kennewick in 1974.
Her husband died in 1987.
Survivors include two sons, Ralph and Victor; a daughter, Bernice; a brother, Joe Spuler; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

William Strzelec, Jr. Spokane
Memorial service for William E. Strzelec, Jr., will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Plymouth Congregational Church. The Cremation Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Strzelec, who was born and raised in Chicago, died Monday. He was 42.
He attended Catholic elementary and high schools in Chicago before graduating from Western Illinois University with a degree in psychology. He later graduated from Gonzaga University with a juris doctorate degree and passed the bar exam.
Mr. Strzelec served as deputy prosecuting attorney in Whitman County and was in private practice for several years.
He was employed with John Cooney and Associates in the Garland area at the time of his death.
Survivors include his wife, Sheri; his father and mother, William and Bernadette Strzelec of Burr Ridge, Ill.; and a sister, Debbie Tulcus of Thousand Oaks, Calif.

Amanda Bleck Tacoma
Memorial service for Amanda O. Bleck, 102, will be at 11 a.m. today at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Spokane, where she was a longtime member. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Black, a former longtime Spokane resident who was living in Tacoma, died Friday.
She was born in Seward, Neb.
Her husband, George, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Johnson of Tacoma; a son, Robert Bleck of Seattle; a sister, Mildred Allgaier of Spokane; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Everett Lundgren Deer Park
Funeral for Everett Wallace Lundgren, 73, will be at 3 p.m. today at Zion Lutheran Church in Deer Park. Burial will be at Woodland Cemetery in Deer Park. Lauer Funeral Home in Deer Park is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Kief, N.D., Mr. Lundgren, died Sunday.
He was a longtime member of the Lutheran Church and attended Zion Lutheran Church in Deer Park.
Mr. Lundgren lived in Southern California and Spokane for many years before moving to Deer Park 10 years ago.
Survivors include four sisters, Marvel Englin of Mead, Marjorie Trautman of Muskogee, Okla., Mione Reagan of Spokane and Marna Lister of Las Vegas.
Theodore Huetter Spokane
Memorial Mass for Theodore A. Huetter, Jr., 81, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Augustine Catholic Church. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Huetter, who was born in Spokane, died Tuesday.
He attended St. Augustine’s Grade School and Lewis and Clark High School. He graduated from the University of Washington in 1939 and was a member of the Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity.
Mr. Huetter served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.
After the war, he began his career with Pack River Lumber Co. in Sandpoint. He also served as a councilman and president of the American Legion in Sandpoint.
In 1948 he married Betty Jean Lindman.
In 1952 he transferred to Pack River’s Spokane office, where he worked until his retirement.
Mr. Huetter was a member of the Spokane Country Club, Spokane Club, Manito Golf and Country Club, Hayden Lake Country Club and the Athletic Round Table.
He was also a private pilot and earned his private pilot’s license in the late 1940s.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Beatrice Marie of Seattle, and Betty and Heidi, both of Spokane; a son, Theodore of Lancaster, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

Steven Stenson Spokane
Memorial Mass for Steven Stenson, 41, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A lifetime Spokane resident, Mrs. Stenson died Sunday.
Mr. Stenson attended elementary school at St. John Vianney and graduated from Central Valley High School. He attended Walla Walla State College for two years on a football scholarship.
He had been working as a foreman in commercial fishing for the past 18 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Danielle Stenson, his mother, Beverly Stenson, and a brother, Mel Stenson, all of Spokane; and a sister, Cheryl Ramberg of Westport, Wash.

Grace (Piterson) (Nelson) Zeimantz Spokane
Funeral for Grace Margaret (Piterson) (Nelson) Zeimantz, 98, is planned for 11 a.m. Friday at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Mrs. Zeimantz, who was born on Green Bluff near Spokane, died Saturday.
She worked as a cook in various restaurants.
Her first husband, Larrien Nelson, died in 1925. Her second husband, Tommy Zeimantz, died in 1985.
Survivors include a son, Larrien Nelson; two daughters, Edna Hatch of Haines, Alaska, and Nadyne Ohms of East Wenatchee, Wash.; three sisters, Ellen Lauck, Viola Hann and Marjorie Atwood; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Hazel Nottingham Spokane
Graveside memorial service and inurnment for Hazel Nottingham, 80, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Sandpoint. Coffelt Funeral Service in Sandpoint is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Nottingham, who was born in Lead, S.D., died Friday.
She lived most of her life in North Idaho and later moved to Spokane and worked for Sacred Heart Medical Center until her retirement.
Mrs. Nottingham was preceded in death by her husband, Don. Survivors include three daughters, Sharon and Sandy, both of Spokane, and Donna Hutton of Sandpoint; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.
Alfred Wegner Kellogg
Memorial service for Alfred C. Wegner, 66, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at American Lutheran Church in Kellogg. Shoshone Funeral Service in Kellogg is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Wegner, who was born in Beulah, N.D., died Monday.
He moved to the Silver Valley in 1946 from Billings, Mont., and married Ina Cook in 1959.
Mr. Wegner worked as a bricklayer for Bunker Hill for 32 years and then worked as a custodian for Shoshone School District 391 for 12 years before retiring in 1995.
He was a member of the Bunker Hill 20-year Club.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Diane Smith of Pinehurst, Idaho; two sons, Rex Wegner of Spokane and Randy Wegner of Loon Lake, Wash.; his mother, Eva Branson of Kellogg; four sisters, Bernice Mason of Seattle, Idella Dingman of Coeur d’Alene, Betty Snyder of Illinois and JenetVickerman of Hayden Lake, Idaho; a brother, Rolen Wegner of Seattle; and five grandchildren.

Harold `Pete’ Frenz Greenacres
Funeral for Harold “Pete” Frenz, 80, will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday in the chapel at the Good Samaritan Village in Greenacres. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Rockford. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A 75-year Spokane resident, Mr. Frenz died Monday. He was born in Rockford and raised in the Spokane Valley.
Mr. Frenz graduated from West Valley High School and served with the Army Air Corps during World War II in the Pacific Theater.
He worked as an airplane electrician at Geiger Field and for Boeing in Seattle for several years.
Mr. Frenz was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Survivors include three brothers, Raymond and Walter Frenz, both of Portland, and Paul Frenz of Clackamas, Ore.; and two sisters, Agnes Kerkman of Pullman and Helene Voss of Ellensburg.

Deanna Murray Spokane
Funeral for Deanna E. Murray, 61, was Wednesday at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-North.
A 21-year Spokane resident, Mrs. Murray died Saturday. She was born in Minneapolis.
She worked as an accountant with the civil service for several years.
She was a member of the Eagles Travel Club.
Survivors include her husband, John; three sons, Dwayne, Tim and Michael Murray, all of Anchorage, Alaska; two daughters, Sheila Anderson of Cincinnati and Maureen LeFevre of Seattle; her twin brother, Dennis Bertness of Minneapolis and a brother, Lee Bertness of Burbank, Calif.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Janice (Reid) Long Spokane
Private memorial service for Janice (Reid) Long, 83, will be held at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, where she was a longtime member. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Post Falls, Mrs. Long died Sunday.
She graduated from Post Falls High School and in 1933 moved to Spokane.
Mrs. Long was the supervisor for the Eastern Washington Selective Service Board for several years. She retired in 1975.
Survivors include her husband, Frederic; a daughter-in-law, Patty Shelley; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Milford Dingman Spokane
Funeral for Milford A. Dingman, 83, was Wednesday at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Burial was at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens.
A 24-year Spokane resident, Mr. Dingman died Monday. He was born in Hayden Lake, Idaho.
He served in the Army during World War II in the Philippines, Australia and New Guinea. He was discharged as a first sergeant in 1945.
Mr. Dingman retired from the Idaho Highway Department.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Donna; three sons, Rodney Dingman of Spokane, Gary Dingman of Missoula, Mont., and Scott Dingman of Corvallis, Ore.; a brother, Kenneth Dingman of Coeur d’Alene; a sister, Mary Clements of Corvallis; and five grandchildren.
Lorraine Berg Mead
Memorial service for Lorraine G. Berg, 80, is planned for 1 p.m. June 6 at Mead United Methodist Church. The Cremation Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.
A 49-year Spokane resident, Mrs. Berg died Sunday. She was born in Alberta, Canada.
She worked as a head cook for the Mead School District for many years.
She was a member of Mead United Methodist Church.
Her husband of 30 years, Ralph, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth Berg; and two grandchildren.
