Paul Graves to lead retreat
The Rev. Paul Graves of Sandpoint will lead a retreat at the Immaculate Heart Retreat Center, 6910 S. Ben Burr Road, from 7 p.m. June 11 to 5 p.m. June 12. Titled “Breaking Bread and Other Things: Jesus as the Radical Host of God,” the retreat will examine several Gospel stories in which Jesus is God’s radical host.
Graves is a United Methodist pastor and a columnist for The Spokesman-Review.

Elderhostel program planned
The Monastery of St. Gertrude in Cottonwood, Idaho, will host an Elderhostel program June 14-19.
The convent, home to the Benedictine Sisters, welcomes people age 55 and over for the event.
Participants will stay at the convent and attend classes on topics such as “Ageless in the Lord” and “Creation Centered Spirituality.”
Local history classes also will be offered, as will sightseeing, field trips and hiking. Cost: $380, includes lodging, meals and tours. Advance registration is required, as space is limited.

Pastoral statement to be topic
A seminar is planned for June 8 that will focus on the 1997 pastoral statement “Always Our Children,” published by the U.S. Catholic Bishops. The statement was written for parents of gay and lesbian children.
The featured speakers at the seminar will be the Rev. Robert Nugent and Sister Jeannine Gramick.
The seminar will run from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the St. Joseph Family Center, 1016 N. Superior. Cost: $35.

Sing-along scheduled
Living Water Fellowship Church in Rathdrum, Idaho, will host an ecumenical sing-along at 6 p.m. Sunday. Members of several congregations in the Rathdrum and Athol area are expected to attend.
The event is free, and all are welcome. Refreshments will follow.
The Fellowship church meets in the old senior center at Logan and Boise in Rathdrum.
