Jessica Lynn Batten became the bride of Karl Wayne Freeman in a July 30 ceremony at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Spokane.

The bride is the daughter of Raymond and Carol Batten, Spokane. James and Karla Freeman, Bellevue, are the parents of the groom.

A reception at the Mukogawa Fort Wright Commons followed the ceremony. The Freemans are living in Bellevue after a honeymoon in the Virgin Islands and St. Thomas.

The couple are both graduates of Eastern Washington University. The bride is an elementary school teacher, and the groom is a high school teacher and coach.
