The following offices and services will be affected by the Veterans Day holiday Thursday.

Garbage service will not be affected.

City and county offices will be closed.

Post offices will be closed.

State liquor stores will not be affected.

Most banks will be closed. Check with individual branches as several local offices will remain open.

Area schools will be affected as follows: Bonner County, 11:30 a.m. early release Thursday and Friday; Boundary County, no school Thursday and Friday; Kellogg District 391 and Mullan District 392 will not be affected; Wallace District 393, no school Thursday and Friday; Plummer/Worley District 44, no school grades K-7 Thursday and Friday, grades 8-12 in session both days; St. Maries Joint District 41, no school for grades K-6 Thursday, grades K-12 no school Friday; Post Falls District 273, no school grades K-5 Thursday and Friday, grades 6-12 will be in session both days; Lakeland District 272 will not be affected; Avery District 394, regular classes Thursday, grades K-12 no school Friday; Coeur d’Alene District 271, no school grades K-12 Thursday, grades K-12 in session Friday; Kootenai District 274, regular classes for K-12 Thursday, no school grades K-12 Friday.
