John Green Spokane
Services for John David Green, 81, was Nov. 7 at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home. A second memorial service will be held in the spring.
Mr. Green, who was born in Spokane, died Nov. 3.
He graduated from Newport (Wash.) High School in 1937 and lived in Metaline Falls, Wash., for 63 years. He recently moved to Spokane.
Mr. Green served in the Civilian Conservation Corps and worked for the Forest Service and for 31 years at Lehigh Portland Cement Co.
He was a member of United Church of Christ in Metaline Falls for more than 50 years.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Mary; a son, Charles Green of Seattle; a daughter, Elizabeth Minetti of Bothell, Wash.; a sister, Catherine Ward of Mountain View, Calif.; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Memorial contributions may be made to the United Church of Christ in Metaline Falls.
Norma (Dill) Shelton Spokane
Memorial service for Norma (Dill) Shelton, 82, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at North Country Chapel in Post Falls. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Shelton, who was born in Palouse, Wash., died Sunday.
She moved to Spokane in 1959 and worked in food service for West Valley School District and at Percy’s Restaurant. She later was a homemaker.
Her husband of 40 years, John Shelton, died in 1988.
Survivors include two daughters, Judith Droter of Liberty Lake and Connie Cerenzia of Spokane; a son, James Shelton of Kent, Wash.; a sister, Doreen Wood of Edgewood, Wash.; two brothers, Leslie and Theodore Dill, both of Spokane; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
Marvin Olsen Davenport, Wash.
Visitation for Marvin O. “Bud” Olsen will be from noon to 5 p.m. today at Strate Funeral Home in Davenport. Service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Davenport Assembly of God Church. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Davenport.
A lifetime Davenport resident, Mr. Olsen died Saturday. He was 87.
He served as a Lincoln County commissioner for 16 years and retired in 1975.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Beulah; a daughter, Melanie Sperry of Woodinville, Wash.; a brother, Harold Olsen of Bellevue, Wash.; a sister, Beatrice Lane of LaGrande, Ore.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Maxine Shaw Cheney
Memorial gathering for Maxine Roberta Shaw (Matney), 80, will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Nov. 20 at the Willow Springs Inn in Cheney. Bothell (Wash.) Funeral Home is in charge of arrangement.
A longtime Cheney resident, Mrs. Shaw died Nov. 5 in Bothell, where she had recently moved. She had spent the previous seven months in Kirkland, Wash.
She retired from Eastern Washington University, where she worked in cafeteria management.
Survivors include two sons, Tom and Marty Matney; and two granddaughters.
Irene Freeman Santa, Idaho
No service will be held for Irene J. Freeman, 74. Yates-Hodge Funeral Home in St. Maries is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Freeman, who was born in Silverton, Ore., died Monday.
She grew up in Miles City, Mont., and in 1945 moved to St. Maries. She married Carl Freeman in 1947 and settled in Santa.
Mrs. Freeman was a homemaker.
Her husband died in 1988.
Survivors include a son, Martin Freeman of Santa; a stepdaughter, Stacy Lamb of Harrison, Idaho; a brother, Elmer Izenhower of Spokane; three sisters, June Freeman and Marjorie Wallace, both of California, and Shirley Reeves of Hardin, Mont.; and one grandchild.
Donald Miller Spokane
Service for Donald C. Miller, 76, is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church. Luncheon will follow at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2218. The Cremation Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Miller, a 76-year Spokane resident, died Wednesday. He was born in Sprague, Wash.
He served with the Navy during World War II in the South Pacific and the Aleutian Islands.
Mr. Miller worked as a carpenter for Spokane Public Schools District 81 and several construction companies. He retired from Community Colleges of Spokane.
He was a member of Altman-Ruoff-Osier Chapter No. 6, Disabled American Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1435.
Survivors include his wife Carol; a daughter, Catherine Miller of Spokane; five sons, Mark Miller of Spokane, Kevin Miller of Elk, Dennis Miller of Mossyrock, Wash., Dale Miller of Portland and Patrick Miller of Sacramento, Calif.; a brother, Harvey Miller of Redmond, Wash.; a sister, Elaine Michler of Seattle; two stepdaughters, Susan Eppling Rison of Spokane and Linda Hawley of Boise; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dorothy Watson Snohomish, Wash.
Memorial service for Dorothy S. Watson, a former longtime Spokane resident, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Liberty Park Methodist Church in Spokane. Bleitz Funeral Home in Seattle is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Watson, who was born in Washington state, died Oct. 30. She was 81.
She was a resident of Spokane for 80 years and recently moved to Snohomish. She had worked as a waitress in various Spokane restaurants.
Mrs. Watson was a member of the Liberty Park United Methodist Church, Spokane Valley Eagles Lodge 3433, Diamond Square Dance Club, Tom and Tabby’s Dance Club and the South Hill Senior Center.
Her husband, Asa Watson, preceded her in death.
Survivors include four daughters, Junanne Green of Dayton, Wash., Wilma Bailey of St. John, Wash., Marlene Brubaker of Edmonds, Wash., and Lavonne Bren of Waitsburg, Wash.; a son, Ronald Watson of Tampa, Fla.; three sisters, a brother, 11 grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Robert Hutsell Davenport, Wash.
Service for Robert L. Hutsell, a 46-year Davenport resident, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Strate Funeral Home in Davenport. Private inurnment will be at Creston (Wash.) Cemetery.
Mr. Hutsell, who died Tuesday, was born in Telford, Wash. He was 71.
He graduated from Davenport High School in 1946 and served as a staff sergeant with the Air Force during the Korean War.
He married Virginia Zuehlke in 1950.
Mr. Hutsell worked for the Lincoln County roads department, Vern Bumgarner’s Central Service Station and also worked for Washington Water Power for 31 years. He retired in 1988.
Mr. Hutsell was a member of the Trailblazers.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Robynn Rother of Spokane; a son, Scott Hutsell of Davenport; a sister, Lois Beeman of Spokane; two brothers, William Hutsell of Moses Lake and Leonard Hutsell of Davenport; and four grandchildren.
