New faces:

The following attorneys have joined the law offices of Paine, Hamblen, Coffin, Brooke & Miller LLP as associates:

Michael R. Chapman earned a bachelor’s degree in 1996 from Pepperdine University and a law degree this year from Gonzaga University School of Law. Chapman, who was admitted to the Idaho State Bar on Sept. 30, clerked at Paine Hamblen during the summer and fall of 1998. His practice will emphasize civil litigation and business law.

Brent Schlotthauer received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Idaho in 1995 and a law degree from Harvard Law School in 1998. He was employed at another Spokane law firm for a year before joining Paine Hamblen. Schlotthauer is a member of the Washington State Bar and has a limited license to practice in Idaho. His practice will focus on commercial law, business transactions, taxation and real estate.

Jacklin Golf, the golf course consulting subsidiary of Jacklin Seed/Simplot Turf & Horticulture, has hired J. Andrew Drohen as marketing manager for the Northeastern United States. He works with golf course architects and builders to specify grass seed varieties for new golf course construction and renovation projects. Drohen previously was a consultant/principal for Turfgrass Environmental Consultants. Drohen, who earned a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Northeastern University, received a master’s degree in turfgrass science from the University of Massachusetts last February.

Michael A. DiPasquale has joined Unique Printing Services Inc. of Coeur d’Alene in outside sales. The company specializes in color printing and specialty jobs for commercial customers.

Barb Richey has joined Eastern Washington University as director of development. She will be responsible for relationship building and fund raising. Richey received a bachelor’s degree in applied psychology and a master’s degree in organizational communication from Eastern Washington University. She also is a public relations consultant for Cutting Edge Enterprises LLC, a Spokane training, marketing and public relations firm.

Moving up:

Bette Zerba has been named president and CEO of Virtual Web Research & Marketing LLC, a market research company that specializes in nontraditional and Web-based marketing research projects. She will continue as research projects supervisor and as chief research analyst for the company. Prior to joining Virtual Web Marketing & Research, Zerba was a senior research analyst with Seafirst Bank, Washington Water Power, Washington Energy and KXLY Research.

The following employees of Global Credit Union have been promoted:

Greg Benneweis was named Valley branch manager. Benneweis previously was a member service representative at the same branch. He formerly worked for American Express as a financial adviser and has three years of experience in the financial industry.

Anne McKinney was promoted to call center manager at Global’s main office in downtown Spokane. She previously was a call center representative. McKinney has 23 years of experience in the financial industry and was last employed at Inland Northwest Bank.

Transactions:

Spokane-based LeMaster & Daniels PLLC has joined the McGladrey Network, an affiliation of more than 80 independent accounting firms serving closely-held businesses nationwide. The affiliation gives the Spokane-based accounting and consulting firm access to the national resources of McGladrey & Pullen LLP, enabling it to offer a wider range of services. The company also will gain access to international markets through RSM Internatina, which offers the combined skills of more than 12,000 professionals in 439 offices in 70 countries. The affiliation with McGladrey does not change LeMaster & Daniels’ status as an independently owned public accounting firm.

Elected:

Sheila Gustin, clerk-treasurer for the city of Harrison, and Shelly Enderus, treasurer for the city of Post Falls, have been elected to the board of directors of the Idaho City Clerks, Treasurers and Finance Officers Association. They will represent District One. Virginia Davis, clerktreasurer, city of Orofino, was elected second vice president.

Karl Kolb, a senior structural engineer for Coffman Engineers, has been elected vice president of the Spokane Chapter of the Structural Engineers Association of Washington. The association pursues issues affecting the public safety and professional practice in structural engineering.

The Spokane Chapter of Washington Women Lawyers has elected the following officers for 1999-2000: President, Jody M. McCormick; vice president, Patricia Walker; secretary, Kathleen H. Paukert; treasurer, Margot S. Hamstra; and first past president, Rosanna M. Peterson.

Kudos:

ALSC Architects has received a Regional Merit Award from the American Institute of Architects’ Northwest and Pacific region for its renovation work on Trent Elementary School. As the only project from Eastern Washington to be recognized, Trent Elementary was cited for its thoughtful renovation of the original structure while creating a playful identity that reflects its use as an elementary school.
