Shadle Game Set For A 12:30 Start
The starting time for the State 4A football playoff quarterfinal game between Shadle Park and Richland has been moved up to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Lampson Stadium in Kennewick.
Officials wanted to make sure there was plenty of time to move out the 4A crowd before the 3A crowd arrived. Prosser plays Tumwater at 4.
Lampson is the site for five playoff games this weekend.
There is a B-11 doubleheader Friday. No. 10 Asotin (7-3) faces No. 9 Waitsburg (8-2) at 4 p.m., followed by No. 5 Ritzville (9-1) against two-time defending state champion and top-ranked DeSales (9-0) at 7:30.
Saturday it is Shadle Park (9-1) against No. 9 Richland (10-1) at 12:30; No. 9 Prosser (9-2) and No. 5 Tumwater (10-1) at 4; and No. 3 Inchelium (8-2) vs. defending champion and top-ranked Touchet (9-0) in B-8 at 7:30.
Two other games involving area teams are Friday night.
At Martin Stadium in Pullman, the No. 2 Greyhounds (10-0) meet No. 9 Quincy (9-2) in a 2A quarterfinal. At Riverside, its Colton (7-2) against Cusick (8-2), tied for fourth, in a B-8 quarter.
Lake City of Coeur d’Alene is planning to take as many as six rooter buses to Moscow on Friday for its State A-1 Division II championship game against Vallivue.
Cost is $2 for adults and students. Deadline for reservations is 3:30 p.m. Thursday. Buses will leave LC at 2:30 and return immediately following the 5 p.m. game. For more information, call LC activities secretary Marsha Hagen at (208) 769-0769.
