William Buffington Sr. Loon Lake, Wash.
Service for William “Bill” Camden Buffington Sr., 85, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Loon Lake United Church of Christ. Graveside rites and military committal will follow at 2 p.m. at the Metaline (Wash.) Cemetery. Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Newport, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Jackson, Mo., Mr. Buffington died Monday. He was a resident of Metaline Falls for 77 years before moving to Loon Lake in 1996.
He graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in Spokane.
Mr. Buffington served in the Army during World War II in the Asiatic and Pacific Theater.
He married Hazel “Fay” Lambeth in 1943.
Mr. Buffington worked as head machinist for Portland Lehigh Cement Co. in Metaline Falls for 50 years.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a past commander of the American Legion. He also helped run the North County Blood Bank, was a justice of the peace for more than 20 years, a Pend Orielle County court commissioner and a longtime member of United Church of Christ.
His wife, Fay, died in 1986.
Survivors include two daughters, Anita Marti of Elk and Janet Humphries of Lynnwood, Wash.; a son, William “Cam” Buffington Jr. of Loon Lake; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Peter Satterberg Spokane
Graveside inurnment service for Peter George Satterberg, 45, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Hillcrest Mausoleum at Wenatchee Cemetery. Telford’s Chapel of the Valley in East Wenatchee is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Satterberg, who was born in Wenatchee, died Monday.
A 22-year Spokane resident, Mr. Satterberg was journeyman electrician and was owner and operator of S and S Electric in Spokane.
He married Debi Hall in 1977.
Survivors include a daughter, Jessica Satterberg of Seattle; a son, Drew Satterberg of East Wenatchee; his mother, Shirley Arch of Portland; a sister, Sally Satterberg of Los Angeles; and two brothers, John Satterberg of West Linn, Ore., and Paul Satterberg of Aloha, Ore.

Bill Walter Newman Lake
Memorial service for Bill Logan Walter, 84, was Friday at Hennessey Valley Funeral Home.
Born in Pullman, Mr. Walter died Tuesday. He was a 30-year resident of Newman Lake.
Mr. Walter served in the Army for 25 years and attained the rank of lieutenant colonel.
He was a photographer for 30 years and retired in 1979.
Mr. Walter is survived by three sons, Bruce Walter of Redlands, Calif., Michael Walter of Loma Linda, Calif., and Oliver Walter of Laramie, Wyo.; a daughter, Marilyn Walter of Irvine, Calif.; a sister, Joanne Hickman of Walla Walla; and seven grandchildren.
Ima Schuemaker Rockford
Private inurnment for Ima M. Schuemaker, 92, will be at Fairview Cemetery in Rockford. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Schuemaker, who died Wednesday, was born in Rock City, Wash.
She was a registered nurse at Sacred Heart Hospital and also did private duty and minor surgery nursing work.
In 1940 she moved to Seattle and worked at Washington Shipyard First Aid. Mrs. Schuemaker joined the Army Nurses Corps and served until the end of World War II.
She returned to Seattle worked as an operating room nurse for several years. In 1970 she returned to Spokane and worked at Valley General Hospital. She retired in 1973.
She was a resident of Rockford for 62 years.
Mrs. Schuemaker was a member of the Spokane Valley Senior Citizen Association and was the organization’s first secretary-treasurer. She was also active in the Opportunity Nutrition Program.
Her husband, D.L. Schuemaker, preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Bertha Marlow and Betty Slinkard; three nieces and a nephew.

Herm Green Spokane
Memorial service for Herm William Green, 74, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Hennessey Valley Funeral Home. Born in Culbertson, Mont., Mr. Green died Wednesday. He was a Spokane resident for 47 years.
He worked for the Great Northern Railway in Havre, Mont., and then later was a switchman and brakeman for the Burlington Northern Railroad in Spokane. He retired in 1982.
Mr. Green served in the Army’s 6th Armored Division during World War II.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Audrey N. Green; two sons, William Green of Spokane and Richard Green; two stepsons, Keith Nichols and Glen Gendron, both of Spokane; two daughters, Margaret Green of Sacramento, Calif., and Debbie Green Sullivan of Anchorage, Alaska; four stepdaughters, Barbara Lenderman, Laurie Pimms and Mary Jo Kraut, all of Spokane, and Donna Benson of Billings, Mont.; two brothers, Henry Green of San Diego and Adam Green of Arizona; three sisters, Patty Kilmer of Spokane, Alvira of Sacramento and Esther Porter of California; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dorothy Hall Spokane
Memorial service for Dorothy E. Hall, 75, will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Heritage Funeral Home.
Born in Butler, Mo., Mrs. Hall died Tuesday. She was a resident of Spokane for 52 years.
She married James R. Hall in 1945.
Mrs. Hall was a 52-year Spokane resident and was a homemaker.
Her husband James preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, James Hall of Spirit Lake, Idaho; a daughter, Pamela Hill of Spokane; a stepson, Richard Hall of Newman Lake; a brother, Leslie Adams of San Bernardino, Calif.; two sisters, Deloris Bibby of Seattle and Letha Vermillion of Emmet, Ariz.; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Alice Suksdorf Spokane
Memorial service for Alice A. Suksdorf, 82, will be held at a later date. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Colfax, Wash., Mrs. Suksdorf died Wednesday.
She was a resident of Spokane for 40 years and was a homemaker.
Mrs. Suksdorf was a member of Fourth Memorial Church and was a past member of the Spangle Grange.
Her husband, Herbert Suksdorf, died in 1988.
She is survived by a son, Lynn Suksdorf of Salt Lake City; two daughters, Carol Hochhalter of Spokane and Julie Leyde of Lutz, Fla.; a brother, Leo Pierce of Richland; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Spokane County Cancer Society.
Irene Kling Tekoa, Wash.
Memorial service for Irene Muriel Kling, 74, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Spokane. Cremation was held, and inurnment will be at Cyprus Lawn Memorial Park in Everett. Kramer Funeral Home in Tekoa is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Moorhead, Minn., Mrs. Kling died Sunday.
She was a homemaker.
She married Harold A. Myers in 1948. They were later divorced, and in 1954 she married Emil Jurgens. She was a resident of Oakesdale, Wash., for 20 years.
Her second husband died in 1974.
Mrs. Kling married James Kling in 1991, and they lived in Newport, Wash., for one year and moved to Spokane, where they lived for five years. They moved to the Tekoa Care Center in 1997.
She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Spokane.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Gary Myers of Spokane; two daughters, Diane Wilbourne of Spokane and Virginia Griffin of Everett; and nine grandchildren.

Doris Brenchley Electric City, Wash.
Memorial service for Doris Jean Brenchley, 75, will be at 2 p.m. today at Faith Community Church in Electric City. Strate Funeral Home in Grand Coulee is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Caribel, Idaho, Mrs. Brenchley died Tuesday. She was a 57-year resident of Electric City.
Mrs. Brenchley collected advertisements for KFDR Radio, Grand Coulee in 1961, and in 1962 she had her own daily talk show that covered a wide variety of subjects.
She had bee a member of Grand Coulee Rebekah Lodge No. 315 for 52 years, and held the office of noble grand five times and district president twice.
Mrs. Brenchley is survived by her husband of 58 years, Walter “Brick” Brenchley; a daughter, Gloria Karton of Snohomish, Wash.; two sons, Steven Walter of Newman Lake and Larry Jess of Elmer City, Wash.; two sisters, Gladys Morris of Grand Coulee and Mercedes Dinwiddie of Seattle; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Dorothy Morrison Tigard, Ore.
No service will be held for Dorothy June Morrison, 75, at her request. American Burial and Cremation Services of Oregon in Tigard is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Boulder, Mont., Mrs. Morrison died Nov. 12.
She moved to Anchorage, Alaska, in 1949, and worked for Sunrise Bakery in Alaska from 1954 to 1970.
Mrs. Morrison moved to Chattaroy and then to Tigard three months ago.
Her husband, William, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Morrison is survived by two sons, Ron Morrison of Canby, Ore. and Tim Morrison of Gatlinburg, Tenn.; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Gerald `Jerry’ Aegerter Sandpoint
Memorial service for Gerald E. “Jerry” Aegerter, 82, will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the Sandpoint United Methodist Church. Coffelt Funeral Service in Sandpoint is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Aegerter, who was born in Crofton, Neb., died Wednesday.
He married Phyllis Schirmer in 1937 and the couple settled in California. He served in the SeaBees during World War II.
Mr. Aegerter lived and worked in California until retiring in 1976. After retiring, he traveled and spent summers in Hope, Idaho, until moving to Sandpoint in 1987.
Mr. Aegerter was a member of the Sandpoint United Methodist Church, the Sandpoint Lakeside Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite and the Calam Temple in Lewiston and also had served as the grand chaplain of the Idaho Masonic Lodge. He was past patron of the Sandpoint Order of the Eastern Star, Martha Chapter.
Survivors include his wife; and two sisters, Vale Mack and Aulda Roberts, both of California.
Memorials may be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital, or Bonner Community Hospice.
Peter Koch Spokane
No services will be held for Peter H. Koch, 78, at the family’s request. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Koch, who was born in Bowman, N.D., died Wednesday.
A 55-year Spokane resident, Mr. Koch was a self-employed bricklayer.
Survivors include his wife Muriel Koch; two daughters, Karine Poutre of Spokane and Candace Crane of Deer Park; a son, Chandler Koch of Boise; a sister, Katie Schlee of Redmond, Wash.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Amelia Carr Spokane
Graveside service for Amelia (Seitz) Carr, 92, will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home South is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Russia, Mrs. Carr died Thursday.
She was a resident of Spokane for 60 years and was a homemaker.
Her husband of 40 years, Earl M. Carr, died in 1981.
Survivors include a daughter, Violet Hueser of Spokane; a son, Andrew Carr of Suncrest, Wash.; a sister, Martha Guderian of Yakima; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
