Spokane Web Site Expects Holiday Rush

Big companies aren’t the only ones hoping for online cheer this holiday season.

Will Murray, a Spokane resident who operates a site called sculpturegallery.com, also is banking on a jump in revenues.

“Our sales this year will be five times what they were last year,” he said, although he did not offer a specific number.

Murray closed his Spokane bookstore in 1997. He started selling artwork on the Internet last year.

Murray works with about 15 suppliers. Visitors to his site come from around the world, including Hong Kong, Singapore, Tonga and England.

Last Sunday, sculpturegallery.com had about 715 visitors. Murray expects increased traffic as Christmas nears.
