Computer Snafu Slows School Transcripts
Boise State University is catching up on issuing transcripts after delays of up to two weeks were caused by the conversion to a new computer system.
The delays affected about 600 students who needed official proof of grades for teacher certificates, new jobs or job applications.
University staff accommodated students by sending out less formal grade reports. And by the end of next week transcripts should be issued within a week of application, said Mark Wheeler, dean of enrollment services and interim registrar.
The delays were caused by the conversion to PeopleSoft, a new $16 million computerized information system expected to improve student services.
