Rules For Streams
Water projects
Proposed rules for activities or development that affects any streams in Washington will be presented by the Washington Fish and Wildlife Department at public meetings this month.
Actions that affect the flow of water require a hydraulics project permit from the agency.
Because a number of Washington fish species have recently become protected under the federal Endangered Species Act, the department has changed some rules with approval of federal agencies.
Eastern Washington meetings are scheduled from 7 to 9 p.m. as follows:
Spokane: Oct. 19, Lounge Rooms A and B, Student Union Building, Spokane Falls Community College, 3410 W. Fort George Wright Dr.
Okanogan: Oct. 20, Okanogan County PUD, 1331 Second Ave. N. For more information on making comments on the proposals, contact Mike Judge, (360) 902-2407.
