Taking Liberty

Max Ary discusses the restoration process of the Liberty Bell 7, Gus Grissom’s Mercury spacecraft that sank off the Florida coast in 1961. Ary, president of the Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center, said the restoration will take place at the museum in Hutchinson, Kan. The Liberty Bell 7 was recovered July 20 after being submerged under 16,000 feet of water for 38 years.
