Highland Invite Has Biggest Field
The Highlander Invitational cross country meet is bigger than ever.
Last year, 20 schools participated. This year, the field for Saturday’s event has grown to include runners from East Valley, Southridge and stateranked 4A Woodinville and 2A Omak, whose girls and boys went 1-2, respectively, at state.
All races will be 2-1/2 miles in length, beginning with freshman boys at 9:30 and followed at half-hour intervals by freshmen girls, sophomore boys, junior varsity girls, junior boys, varsity girls and senior boys.
Twenty-eight trophies will be awarded, to the top three teams and individual winners in each race and ribbons will be awarded to the next 19 finishing runners.
