James Harris Cataldo, Idaho
Graveside service for James Gordon Harris, 74, will be today at 11 a.m. at Rose Lake (Idaho) Cemetery.
Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Kellogg, Mr. Harris died Thursday.
He grew up on the family farm in the Medimont, Idaho, area and worked at various jobs after receiving his education Mr. Harris started logging in 1942. He worked as a miner at Bunker Hill in the winters until 1952, when he worked as a full-time logger with area logging companies. In 1955 he became a poultry farmer and also operated an egg delivery route.
He was employed as a heavy equipment operator for the Kootenai County Highway District in 1965. In 1969 he became a foreman for the Eastside Highway District and in 1976 a district supervisor. He retired in 1985.
He was a co-founder of Canyon Little League and helped build local baseball fields. He was also active as a coach and umpire.
Mr. Harris spent winters in Arizona after his retirement and also traveled to Alaska and Hawaii.
Survivors include his wife, Betty; a son, Bud Harris of Tacoma; a daughter, Jane Limford of Lava Hot Springs, Idaho; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Glen `Bill’ Sledge Athol, Idaho
Memorial service for Glen William “Bill” Sledge, 56, was Sunday at English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene.
Mr. Sledge, who was born in Kansas City, Mo., died Friday.
He lived in Willits, Calif., before moving to North Idaho 24 years ago. He worked in home and commercial construction. Mr. Sledge also was a wood craftsman.
Survivors include his wife, Delaynne; three daughters, Kari Sledge of Whitefish, Mont., Lisa Sledge of Pocatello, Idaho, and Nicole Adams of Athol; a brother, Jerry Sledge of Scottsdale, Ariz.; a sister, Sandra Fox of California; and five grandchildren.

Margaret `Moxie’ Romans Gladstone, Ore.
Memorial Mass for Margaret V. “Moxie” Romans, 86, will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Coeur d’Alene. Family service will be held at a later date. Cochran and Waud Sunset Chapel in Gladstone is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Romans, who died Wednesday, was born in Oregon.
She moved to San Francisco in the early 1930s and married Ralph Romans in 1939. They lived in Samoa, Alaska, California and Rhode Island before moving to Coeur d’Alene in 1957. She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church.
Mrs. Romans moved to Eugene, Ore., in 1984 and recently moved to a foster home in Gladstone.
Her husband died in 1986.
She is survived by three daughters, Judy Romans of Oregon, Lynne Romans of Brazil and Shanna Bublitz of Rathdrum, Idaho; two sons, Bert and Phil Romans, both of Oregon; and five grandchildren.

Mary George Coeur d’Alene
Memorial service for Mary Lou George, 54, will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Kellogg Funeral Chapel. Inurnment will be at Shoshone Memorial Gardens in Pinehurst, Idaho.
Mrs. George, who was born in Wallace, died Friday.
She lived in North Idaho and worked at the Galena, Crescent and Consil mines until leaving the Silver Valley in 1987. She worked at various mines in Nevada, Oregon and California before becoming a federal mine inspector. She was one of the first women accepted on the National Mine Rescue Team.
In 1998 she returned to North Idaho and lived in Coeur d’Alene.
Survivors include a son, Roger Davis of Silverton, Idaho; two daughters, Melissa Reid of St. Maries and Marybeth Gust of Elko, Nev.; her companion, Bob Lauritzen of Coeur d’Alene; her mother, Virginia Sanders of Silverton; five sisters, Pat McCathern of Portland, Virginia Pazer of Troy, Mont., Kathy Trenk of Marysville, Wash., Cindy Pugh of Gold Bar, Wash., and Candy Karst of Osburn, Idaho; a brother, Wayne Sanders of Portland; and six grandchildren.

Donna Hotchkiss Greenacres
Service for Donna Mae Hotchkiss, 73, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery in Coeur d’Alene.
Mrs. Hotchkiss, who was born in Cloquet, Minn., died Wednesday.
In 1944 she graduated from high school in Cloquet, and in 1946 she married Charles Wolfe. He was killed in a hunting accident in 1947.
She married David Hotchkiss in 1949 and moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1957. They and owned and operated a trucking business, International Transport. They also owned Dave’s Auto Sales in Hayden, Idaho, until her husband died in 1971.
She later married William Chandler. She moved to Greenacres in 1980 Mrs. Hotchkiss attended Pleasant View Church in Post Falls.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Ronald Hotchkiss of Coeur d’Alene; a daughter, Darla Finney of Harrison, Idaho; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Jean Wallace Coeur d’Alene
No service will be held for Jean Selina Wallace, 67, at her request. English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Wallace, who died Friday, was born in New Jersey.
She lived in California and moved to Coeur d’Alene 19 years ago. She worked as a bookkeeper at The Ritz Cafe and retired in 1995.
Survivors include two sons, John Shepard of North Carolina and Rick Wallace of Coeur d’Alene; a daughter, Diane Wallace of Coeur d’Alene; six brothers and sisters; and six grandchildren.
