Congratulations to all of the winners of the 2000 Chase Youth Awards. Winners in both the teen and the youth category were announced at the annual youth awards ceremony Tuesday night.

In all, more than 900 young people were nominated as individuals or members of groups for awards in seven categories: citizenship, community service, courage, creativity, diversity, leadership and personal achievement.

The Chase Youth Awards began 13 years ago as a way to recognize outstanding young people in the community.

In an effort to further support the mission of the Chase Youth Awards, which is to recognize all deserving young people for their accomplishments, Our Generation will begin next week highlighting some of the other teen nominees. Even though they were not selected as winners, in many cases their accomplishments are just as worthy of recognition.
