Hewlett-Packard and Eastman Kodak plan to open a new digital photography joint venture based in San Diego within three months. The companies hope to sell their mini-lab system to retail photo centers, such as one-hour photo shops.
America Online Inc. will begin providing streaming video and audio this week to members with high-speed Internet access. AOL Plus, which the company announced Tuesday, will be available to members using the company’s 5.0 software with cable modem, satellite or other high-speed connections.
Federal mediators have called a recess in talks between Northwest Airlines and its flight attendants’ union.
The union wants to be released from mediation and begin a 30-day countdown toward a possible strike. Mediators rejected the release request, although no new talks have been scheduled.
