Examiner Hears Request For Residential Rezone
City Hearing Examiner Greg Smith heard a request Tuesday for a zone change that would allow an office building in a neighborhood on North Standard.
Bruce Longmeier and Rick VanGelder of Profit Partners Northwest are asking to transform an old run-down house into office space.
The house, located at 6225 N. Standard, is zoned for a residential duplex.
County Planner Steve Haynes was against the rezone until the hearing on Tuesday.
After hearing testimony, he said the impact of the project, such as parking, would be minimal.
“The operational impacts of the way they are doing business are real low. This is basically two guys who are self-employed. They will have virtually no walk-in business, so four stalls for parking should be adequate,” Haynes said.
The 2,000-square-foot building sits on an 8,800-square-foot lot south of Francis on the west side of Standard.
Smith should have his decision announced within two weeks.
