Response To Request Overwhelming
Dear Readers: A few weeks ago I asked you to send in your precognitive dreams to share in this column. I was surprised and overwhelmed at your response. Letters arrived daily, many more than I expected. Choosing which to share has been difficult, but I knew these would have to be the first to report.
Pat Pontarelli writes: Many years ago, when Shannon, my first-born son, was 3, I had an extremely frightening dream. It was a totally unique experience. It was a message.
During what seemed to be a normal dream, a dominant and forceful voice interrupted it so distinctly that I was forced to take notice. The voice told me that my son would die at an early age. Frightened, I asked when this would happen. The voice led me to believe it would be in about 20 years. There was no answer when I asked how it would happen, but the voice let me know that it was a given and it would happen.
I awoke and was terrified. I could not get it out of my mind. Weeks, months and years later, I was still haunted by that experience. I told very few people, not wanting it to get back to my son. When he turned 23, I became depressed and distraught with worry but kept it all to myself.
Shannon died on Oct. 8, 1997, when he was 25 years old. He simply went to bed one night and stopped breathing. The coroner ran many tests and stated that his heart just stopped.
After he died I shared my dream with friends and family. They asked how could I have lived with that knowledge all these years. I told them that it wasn’t a burden but a favor, a gift from God. Because of that dream I gave 110 percent emotionally to Shannon. We had a wonderful relationship and I treasured every moment.
It’s so comforting knowing that I have no regrets, no “if only.” How many people can say that after such a loss as mine? Thank you for letting me share this. Dorothy Lee writes: Our dogs have always been a big part of our lives. Two years ago, Munya, our beloved blue heeler, was very ill with cancer. Our hearts were breaking. The vets tried everything, but we finally had to put her to sleep. A few weeks later I had this dream.
Munya is trying to bring me a puppy. It’s a big puppy, a Blue Heeler with a cropped tail. I know its a female. She’s trying to carry the puppy in her front paws, not her mouth, and is having a hard time because the pup is so heavy. She knows it’s our puppy and she really wants us to have it.
The day after my dream my husband was speaking to his aunt who lives in a town nearby. He hadn’t even told her about Munya when she said her neighbor’s blue heeler just had pups, and if we were interested in one to come on over.
I had shared my dream with my husband, so we jumped in the car to go see the pups. There was only one female in the litter of six, and we named her Buzz. We’re sure she is the dream puppy. We’ve often laughed that we don’t know why Munya wished this puppy on us, as she is a complete hellion. Of course, we love her anyway.
