Crop Walk against hunger

Walkers in the Crop Walk against hunger will stroll down the Centennial Trail April 30. Registrations for the annual fund-raiser are being accepted, with participants collecting pledges for every mile they walk.

The event begins at noon at Martin Centre on the Gonzaga University Campus.

George Critchlow of GU’s Institute for Action Against Hate will speak about the Anne Frank exhibit on campus. The two-mile or 10K walk begins at 2 p.m.

Proceeds will benefit local and worldwide relief organizations. Of the total amount received, 25 percent will stay in Spokane to benefit Spokane Food Bank, Interfaith Hospitality Network, and Meals on Wheels for Mid-City Concerns and the Spokane Valley.

The event is sponsored by Church World Service and the Spokane Council of Ecumenical Ministries.

Call 326-5656 for registration or information.
