Wampum Benefit Planned For April 29

Make your plans now to attend this year’s WAMPUM dinner and auction, billed as the “Premiere of the Century.”

The evening of fine dining, bidding and dancing takes place April 29 at the DoubleTree Hotel downtown.

The WAMPUM organization has raised money to benefit area arts and cultural organizations since 1968. Twenty-five organizations have been selected to benefit from this year’s event, including Allegro, the Cheney Cowles Museum, KPBX public radio, the Spokane Art School, the Festival at Sandpoint, and Theatre Arts for Children.

Items up for bid include a Caribbean cruise, a car, jewelry, sports memorabilia, a salmon bake for 20 people, a game of golf with former NFL quarterback Mark Rypien at The Coeur d’Alene Resort, and a trip to a NASCAR race in Las Vegas in 2001 to view the action from Chad Little’s pit.

There will be both oral and silent bidding during the evening. Music for dancing will be provided by Craig Volosing’s Good Time Band.

Tickets are $150 per person and must be purchased before April 24 by calling 328-9205.
