Check Regulations Pamplet For Changes To Limits
Sweeping changes were made for this season in Washington’s fishing regulations. Even anglers heading to familiar waters should check the new fishing regulations pamphlet before casting a line.
In addition to trout catch limits and bass size restrictions mentioned elsewhere in this section, here’s a sampling of changes that affect angling in Eastern Washington.
Six lakes in Okanogan County that have been on a Dec. 1-March 31 season will be open this year from April 1-Nov. 30 as catch-and-release, selective-gear waters. Among them are Campbell, Davis, Rat, Green, Lower Green and Little Twin.
Davis Lake in Pend Oreille County will no longer be open year-round. The season this year will be April 29-Nov. 30.
The kokanee limit for Horseshoe Lake in Pend Oreille County has been cut from 10 a day to five. The kokanee limit in Wenatchee Lake was dropped from 16 to five.
The daily walleye limit for much of the lower Columbia River will be 10 per day, of which no more than five can be longer than 18 inches and one greater than 24 inches.
Fishing regulations for numerous upper Columbia tributaries were changed to provide some fishing while at the same time protecting endangered steelhead runs.
