Robert W. Gross
Age: 50
Experience: Started in 1974 as patrolman for the Kennewick Police Department. He is currently the assistant chief after almost 26 years at the same department. He helps develop an $18 million biennial budget and is a member of the Governor’s Juvenile Justice Advisory Committee.
Gross has worked in every division of the department except youth services.
He helped develop the initial safety plan for the annual Tri-Cities Unlimited Hydroplane races - which had many of the same problems as a similar event formerly held on Lake Coeur d’Alene.
Education: Gross has extensive specialized training, including time at the FBI National Academy in 1995.
