Tractor-Trailer Snaps Telephone Pole

From Staff

A mile-long stretch of Government Way was temporarily closed Tuesday after a tractor-trailer snapped a telephone pole at its base.

The driver only hit the phone and cable lines, but there was some concern that other power poles could be affected, Idaho State Patrol Trooper Rick Yeend said.

No one was injured, and no area residents were without power, Yeend said.

The trucker was heading south on Government Way when he turned west onto Lancaster. A car, stopped and facing the other direction, caused the trucker to make the turn more tightly. The trucker was not cited, Yeend said.
