Gonzaga University will receive a “seven-figure” donation from a Spokane-area resident Monday.

University officials said the exact amount and the identity of the donor will be revealed when the gift is presented to the university, at the request of the donor.

The by-invitation presentation will be at 11:30 a.m. in the lower lounge of the School of Business Administration in the Jepson Center.

University President the Rev. Robert Spitzer will speak, and the benefactor will be on hand as well.

University spokesman Dale Goodwin said that while the gift is not the largest received by the university, “it is certainly a very significant gift.”

The donation will be used to improve technology and technology programs at Gonzaga. The benefactor hopes that graduates will use their new-and-improved technology education in Spokane.
