Two Emerge Unhurt From Forced Landing
Two men walked away uninjured Saturday afternoon after an emergency plane landing near Deer Park.
Pilot Bill Traum, 59, and student Norman Baker, 56, had taken off from Felts Field and were flying in north Spokane County at about 12:40 p.m. when the plane lost throttle control, and Traum was forced to land.
The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office reported that the plane landed in the 300 block of West Bridge Road and ran into a barbed wire fence, just short of an open field. There was no serious damage to the plane, which is owned by Baker.
