Dick and Phyllis Avery celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday with a gathering at the Northeast Community Center.

Hosts for the event were their children and spouses: Bonnie and Jerry Hall, Clayton, Wash.; Lorretta Avery, Spokane; and Lorri and Jim Enwall, Woodinville, Wash.

The Averys were married Aug. 4, 1950, in Spokane. They have nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
