Edna (LaBarre) Atwood Colville, Wash.
Graveside service for Edna Anna (LaBarre) Atwood, 88, will be at 11 a.m. today at Chewelah (Wash.) Memorial Park. Danekas Funeral Home in Colville is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Atwood, who was born in Wenatchee died Friday.
She grew up in Springdale, Wash., and worked on the family homestead.
She married J. Edwin Atwood in 1929. They lived in Deer Park and then moved to Chewelah in 1935.
Mrs. Atwood was a homemaker and also worked in retail stores in Chewelah.
She moved to Colville in 1976.
Mrs. Atwood was a member of United Methodist Church.
Her husband died in 1974.
Survivors include a son, J. Ed Atwood of Springdale; a sister, Mae Lockwood of Ritzville, Wash.; six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Nicholas Kaufman Spokane
Visitation for Nicholas O. Kaufman, 75, will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home. Service is planned for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Kaufman, who was born in Five Mile, died Friday.
He was a lifetime Spokane-area resident.
Mr. Kaufman worked at Kaiser Aluminum for 28 years and was assigned overseas in Ghana, West Africa, Dusseldorf, Germany, and Holly Head, North Wales. He retired in 1982 as a hot metal supervisor.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Corinne; two sons, Don and Ron Kaufman; a daughter, Lori Harwood; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

John Ojeda Keller, Wash.
Memorial service for John George Ojeda, 75, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Keller Community Center. The Neptune Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.
A 15-year Keller resident, Mr. Ojeda died Thursday. He was born in Lockhart, Texas.
He worked as a foreman for Rheemes Manufacturing in Houston for 40 years. He later moved to Keller, where he owned the Keller Tavern.
Survivors include his companion, Lula Aubertin; a son, Marshall Ojeda of Reston, Va; a daughter, Linda Ojeda of Alaska; several grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
James Peck Veradale
Service for James W. Peck, 61, will be at 11 a.m. today at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Pines Cemetery. Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A 27-year Spokane resident, Mr. Peck died Thursday. He was born in Pocatello, Idaho.
He enlisted in the Air Force in 1962 and served for 20 years. He later worked for Sacred Heart Medical Center for 22 years in the supply department and most recently as a security guard.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Alice; five daughters, Stephanie Peck of Spokane, Theresa Malley of Richland, Becky Peck of Oxnard, Calif., and Belinda Peck and Angela Mildebrant, both of Tucson, Ariz.; his mother, Vera Peck; three brothers, Bill, Galen and Gene Peck; a sister, Beverly; and three grandchildren.
Hal Anderson Spokane
Memorial service for Hal Anderson (Harold G. Anderson Jr.), 82, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Valley Fourth Memorial Church. Burial was held in the Pines Cemetery Mausoleum. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A lifetime Spokane Valley resident, Mr. Anderson died July 19.
He was co-owner of the Early Dawn Dairy in the Spokane Valley, where he worked for more than 40 years.
He was a member of Valley Fourth Memorial Church.
Survivors include a sister, Marie Nyholm, and a brother, Wesley Anderson.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Spokane, Good Samaritan Village or Valley Fourth Memorial Missions Fund.
Lou Green Spokane
Memorial service for Lou Green, 79, will be at 5 p.m. today at Riplinger Funeral Home.
Mrs. Green, who was born in Spokane, died July 18.
She graduated from Davenport (Wash.) High School, and in 1953 she moved back to Spokane.
She was a volunteer and director of the Spokane Air Defense Filter Center. She also was a bus driver for the Cheney School District and a delivery person for the Hart and Dilatush Pharmacy.
Mrs. Green was a member of the Spokane Yacht Club.
Her husband of 54 years, Cecil, died in 1991.
Survivors include two sons, Kent Green and Deral Green, both of Spokane; a brother, Lyle Domrese of Spokane; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Sarah (Ball) Koehler Spokane
Memorial service for Sarah Carolyn (Ball) Koehler, 85, will be at 7 p.m. Friday at Mission Community Presbyterian Church. Lauer Funeral Home in Deer Park is in charge of arrangements.
Born in St. Paul, Minn., Mrs. Koehler died July 8. She was a 53-year Spokane resident.
After graduating from Humbolt High School in St. Paul Mrs. Koehler worked for St. Paul Fire and Marine Insurance Co.
She married Robert Koehler in 1939. They moved to Spokane in 1947.
Mrs. Koehler was a homemaker. She also wrote a column for the Valley Herald newspaper for several years. She was a member of Mission Community Presbyterian Church and the Poetry Scribes.
Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Virginia Burke of Spokane, Ann Margaret Putman of Deer Park and Susan Wreight of Calgary, Alberta; a son, Peter Koehler of Grangeville, Idaho; a brother, George Ball of Pagosa Springs, Colo.; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Mary (Tomsha) Superak Spokane
Funeral Mass for Mary “May” (Tomsha) Superak, 88, was Monday at St. Joseph Church at Jump Off Joe, Wash. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Superak, who was born in Valley, Wash., died Thursday.
During World War II she served in the Women’s Army Corps.
Mrs. Superak later worked as a dietician for the Veterans Administration Hospital.
She was a 38-year Spokane resident and a member of St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church, American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, William; a son, William Superak of Seattle; two brothers, Louis and Jake Tomsha, both of Sacramento, Calif.; a sister, June Black of Colville, Wash.; and a granddaughter.

Barry `Ted’ Frey Spokane
Private service will be held for Barry E. “Ted” Frey, 89. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Frey, who was born in Lethbridge, Alberta, died July 30. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps.
Mr. Frey worked as a salesman for Arden Farms and Silver Loaf Baking. He later owned and operated Moab Cash Store and Moab Service for 29 years. He retired in 1973.
He lived in Newman Lake for 45 years until moving to Spokane in 1990.
He was one of the founders of the Moab Irrigation Co.
Mr. Frey was a member of Newman Lake Grange, Spokane Valley Elks Lodge, Spokane Eagles, Liberty Lake Men’s Golf Club, the Over the Hill Gang and Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Edith; a daughter, Sherry Estey of Spokane; two sons, Steve Frey of Spokane and Mike Frey of Boise; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
