Coldwater Creek Opens Cda Facility

Coldwater Creek has opened a new customer service center on Hanley Avenue.

The company moved from rented quarters on Ironwood Drive into the 60,000-square-foot facility in late July.

The center processes catalog orders by mail, phone and e-mail. About 324 employees work at the facility, a figure that will peak at 550-600 as the center ramps up for the Christmas season, said Kristy Gehling, divisional vice president and director of the Coeur d’Alene facility.

The Sandpoint-based retailer sells women’s clothing, accessories and gifts.

The new facility includes three classrooms for training employees and a room with a sample of each of Coldwater Creek’s 3,000 products. Fourteen product specialists work the room, answering customers’ detailed questions about materials, color, style and construction.

The cost of the new facility was listed at $5.5 million on the building permit.
