Spotlight: County Tennis

There is still room to sign up for the Spokane City Closed Tennis Tournament that goes Aug. 16-20 at Hart Field.

The deadline is Sunday and the tournament is open to residents of Spokane County. There are all levels of doubles and singles competition. Cost is $17 for singles and $22 for a doubles team.

This is one of the most historic tournaments in the area. It began in 1910 and has been played every year except 1918, during the end of World War I. For more information, call Kent Brennan at 747-1322 or mail entries to Brennan at 3723 S. Tekoa, Spokane, 99203.
