Man Sought In Silverwood Robbery

From Staff

Kootenai County Sheriff’s deputies are looking for a man who robbed a Silverwood theme park employee Sunday evening.

Witnesses told deputies that a man wearing black clothing grabbed a cash bag from an employee around 8:15 p.m. The woman said she was carrying the bag, which had $531.05 in it, to a vault on the property, according to deputies’ reports.

The man simply grabbed it from under her left arm and ran off, she said. The clerk screamed, which attracted the attention of customers. One customer chased the man to the north end of the theme park, reports said.

The customer said he saw the man run toward U.S. Highway 95, climb a chain link fence and head across the highway, reports said.

The man used no weapons and witnesses had little information about the suspect other than he was wearing black clothing.

Anyone with more information is asked to call the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Department at (208) 664-1511.
