More Comment Allowed
The Spokane County hearing examiner has reopened the official record for comment on a proposed subdivision in the Spokane Valley after the developer submitted a letter and photos of other homes he has moved and remodeled.
In a letter to hearing examiner Mike Dempsey, developer Mike Rubert said he did not know neighbors were opposed to plans to subdivide his land on Grace Avenue and he wanted a chance to show the condition of other homes he has moved into the Spokane area. He submitted six photos of homes in the South Hill area.
Rubert, of Mountain Homestead Enterprises, has asked Dempsey to approve plans to subdivide 1.9 acres on Grace near Bowdish Road into six lots, called Christin’s Addition.
Rubert is a housemover from Spangle.
Neighbors said at a hearing last week the three homes he has moved onto the land are dilapidated and will devalue their homes if the subdivision is allowed. The first home was moved there three years ago.
Only the people who attended last week’s hearing on the subdivision to testify or submitted written comments about Rubert’s proposal can respond to his recent letter and photos. The comments must be received by the hearing examiner by Wednesday.
