Rev. Kent Mankins, senior pastor of Southridge Community Church, 2607 S. Ray, Spokane. Background: Mankins, 35, arrived at Southridge in April after serving as an associate pastor for nearly seven years at Valley Assembly of God Church.

The Texas native has had positions in Florida, New Mexico, Louisiana and Seattle since he began working in the ministry in 1984.

Mankins graduated from Northwest College in 1992 with a degree in music. He completed a master’s degree in counseling at the University of Idaho in May.

Personal: He and his wife, Toni, have been married for 13 years and have a 17-month-old son. Toni works as a dental hygienist.
