Tres Goransen Spokane

Tres Goransen is celebrating her 100th birthday today at Mission Ridge Assisted Living with friends and family.

Goransen was born in Eagle Grove, Iowa, on Dec. 8, 1900. She was educated there and later worked for a utility company.

When she was 22, she married J.A. Goransen and accompanied him on his travels as a salesman around the country.

They built their retirement home in Spokane in 1968 and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1972. J.A. died in 1977, and Tres now resides at Mission Ridge Assisted Living.

Goranson attributes her longevity to doing good things for others.

“I’ve enjoyed living and doing,” Goranson said. “Just tell them that.”
