West Valley Stays Cool In Fourth

West Valley’s boys shot 16 of 20 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter to seal their 69-56 win over visiting Sandpoint in the Border League on Saturday.
WV tied idle Colville for first place, one-half game ahead of idle Coeur d’Alene.
Luke Gordon and Kyle Gazaway combined to hit 11 of 13 free throws during WV’s final quarter.
Gazaway finished 8 of 8 from the line and 4 of 9 from the floor, with two 3-pointers. He added four steals.

Sandpoint came within six points in the third quarter, but WV’s full-court pressure ended the threat. WV’s Jamie Allen and Nikki Sweet came off the bench to combine for 15 points.
